@Veena
Posted by ORGANIC ANGEL on September 5, 2011 at 10:41 amDo you send in submissions to the competitions? It would be great to see you perform and win:) I think you're great and you definately deserve a spot at the top of the list, among the great!

Hi Roamy, no I don't send in submissions. I'm not interested in competing. But I'm glad you think I should https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Have you ever thought about doing the teaching workshops that they have at the competitions? I think we could learn so much from you. If not teaching, you should premier the event, maybe a kick-off dance. I do think you're so good. What are your personal goals when it comes to pole? Do you personally make challanges for yourself ?When you are working on something new, how often are you practicing with it? Just some curiosities…

Veena has performed at a few of the Detroit showcases and I believe at a few pole studios (and taught workshops).

That's cool. I know she has four lil ones, so a world tour may be too busy for our Veena, but I would like to see her in the USPDF or the pole convention when they have it annually. I would def. sign up for classes. I live in Miami and Md. throughout the year. I am pregnant(just stopped inverting-6 1/2 mo. pregnant) and also have one lil one, so right now I probably wouldn't be able to do too much(wouldn't be able to travel), but as something in the future, I am all for it! Going back to performing early March and hope to pole again 4 weeks after delivery:)

Oooooo! Maybe an annual StudioVeena event! That would be so neat. It could have lots of performers from the website and our fave polers too….

Timing is everything when you have kids and a business….some of the events have come up at an inconvenient time. In addition to the things Chem listed I have done Pole Jams in several locations over the yrs, just had a fun one in Vegas! The great thing is, through my lessons I have been able to reach out and teach so many people that can't afford workshops or are in area's where they are not running workshops.
I do set goals for myself if you follow me on FB and here, you'll have seen me post pics of my back flexibility progress working towards moves like the Advanced Ballerina. I'm hoping to hold a 10 sec handstand by my birthday in week! I never stop learning or working on new things.
My kids will only be little for such a short time, I will be able to teach pole for a very long time. (yeah I'll still planning on teaching when I'm 100 yrs old, crusin in my hoveround) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Right now, doing the best I can with Studioveena and my kids are more important than being included the list of top Elite Pole Dancers. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I love the community and lessons you have created for us here.
Don't leave us to be in the listing of 'elite'! We would not benefit from all this great stuff if you were not making it for us!

Well I think you already elite:)
Loved your thoughts. I get curious about everything and I analyze a lot. Having this forum is grand in itself. I just thought it would be neat to have that kind of direction. The kind we get in person, so you can say, "x goes there, and move that there etc.". You already have such a talent. I know that everyone benefits so much. It takes a really special person to be able to teach. I have seen many of the fave perfomers and sometimes they can't really guide you b/c they aren't used to teaching. A couple of them are just like, "keep up". They don't explain annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnything. That is why i thought of you for the classes, even though I know you offer them here. I sometimes think I want to compete in the big ones, but the part of competing isn't a big deal to me. The aspect of creating a special level of art, grace and power is what I like about it.. I don't like things like that to be better or in a certain catagory. I don't think it is about the competition(even though they are named that way), but rather as a distinctive showcase as to what the performer has learned. I have seen you excell and I just think you should get the credit you deserve(and the title) that you deserve:)
Good luck in any path you choose! I am sure glad you picked this one.
