Does any one here have the issue of having outburst of blood vessels on their face after doing an invert??

It never happened to me before…but today I'd been practicing my invert, handstand, gemini…and when I got up, I notice these tiny red dots under my eyes and on the side of my eyes…I FREAKED out… then I was reading online that some people have the same thing after being upside down for awhile.

The red dots are still there but started to calm down…Oh man…if I do invert often, will these blood vessels leave permanent mark??  Does any one know??? I'm scared now…..

Its ok…the red dots will go away. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gifWhen working on strenuous things like inverting and such, this can happen. Its VERY important your being sure to breath (try making a haaaaa sound) when you're moving up into inverted positions. I think I talk about that in the Basic invert lesson, I know its in one of them if your taking the lessons. Holding the breath can cause these dots and you'll raise your blood pressure too!

I've never noticed them after inverting, but I get these – petechiae – pretty much every time I cry, or if I sneeze violently. One evening earlier this year, when I'd had a particularly bad day with hayfever, I looked like I had measles!

This has been happening my entire life, and they've always gone away after a day or two and have never left a permanent mark, so I wouldn't worry too much. 🙂

Wheew — ::wiping sweat on forehead:: — Ok..makes me feel a WHOLE lot better now knowing those dots will go away…

@Veena – I think you're right…I was so focus on holding onto the pole with my legs I don't think I was breathing…LOL

@Terpsikhore – Good to know they don't leave permanent mark!!

    Thank you ladies!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I also never noticed from inverting, but I've gotten it a few times after practising back bends standing on the elbows/forearms. The blood runs to the head and it's very difficult to breath so I think that must be reason. I know of more people experiencing this. Luckily they have faded completely in a couple of days maximum!

Ok, gotta chime in here.  I have not gotten them from inverting but I have from trying to be "quiet" during certain acts involving my husband.  They will go away!

Wow, how interesting. Never happened to me before, but Veena seems to have good advice. Good luck!

I got those once, after a particularly inverty day, and never got them again. I guess they can be pretty common with people doing inverted crunches and stuff. I found whole forums online about people getting them in the gym from doing inverted exercises.
