Are you pulling up from the gemini into a jasmine or shooting star and then trying to flip over? I’m trying to visualize what exactly is happening. Also a video example is wonderful to help with advice.

I'm with englann – a video of you trying it would help. When I go to Superman from Gemini with my right leg on top my left arm doesn't do a lot of work. I only use that hand to give a little push off the pole under my legs to help roll on over.

Yes, your right hand should be on top if your Gemini leg is your right leg.

Glad to hear your finding more time for pole again! Your top arm should be really engaged, with most of your weight held up by that top arm and the rest being across the top of the thigh of the lower leg. Like most split grip positions, your bottom hand is mostly to stabalize and balance, not to hold a lot of weight.
Make sure to engage your shoulders and force them down away from your ears. It sounds like you might be "sinking" into your lower shoulder which could cause the move to be painful.
You might also want to try another way to get into superman that doesn't involve the "flip over" for example from a pike hip hold.
