  • X-pole on a low ceiling; which extensions?

Hey everyone!  I'm new on the forum.

I want to buy an x-pole and I understand their starting height is 88" but my ceiling is only 86" with a laminate floor and I don't think my ceiling is flexible enough to withstand an 88" pole installed.  I've heard about people replacing the B pole with a slighly shorter extension for this.  I would go ahead and order my pole but I've looked around and I can't find how long the A and B poles are, so I don't know what I'm starting with.

How long is the A pole?  The B pole?

Any recommendations for a ceiling that is just 2 inches too low?

    Thanks!

You could always get a lilmynx. They can custom make the pole for lower ceilings. Platinum stages can also make a one piece pole that is shorter. In fact, I just got a one piece brass pole and posted pictures of it for everyone. You give them the height of your ceiling, and they custom cut the pole for you. No extensions! One piece poles are better in my opinion.

Call X pole and talk to them about their product and if it can be used with your ceiling height. You need to know anything you do is structurally sound so you do not cause injury or damage due to a product failing from modifications.

I have a few Xpoles and they have worked very well for me.

I wanted a single piece brass pole so I just placed an order with platinum stages and my pole is shipping. Platinum Stages offers a 10% discount to StudioVeena members. I couldn't resist! They also also cut the pole to your measurement you provide when you order it.

Wishing you the best of luck with your pole considerations, let us know what you find out.

Main pole A is 43 3/8" and main pole B is 40 1/8". Then add the about 4" for the baseplate and dome, combined. I had the exact same problem, ceiling 2" too short for my Xpole. I sent them an email, and they advised me to get the 750mm pole extension to replace my B pole. That and the 10" piece that comes with the pole set should be perfect. (Haven't gotten a chance to put it up yet. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif) Getting a one piece pole cut to that space wasn't really an option for me because I don't plan on being confined to my basement forever, so I needed a pole that could grow to fit a new space. (I mean c'mon. My kids have to move out one day, right? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif)

That's exactly what I love about my X Poles… configurable. I can move them into any room in my house and they adjust to fit the space.

Rather than a 750mm extension I always recommend a 500mm extension…use it with the 250 that comes with the pole.

With a 500mm extension you have the flexibility of going up to 10.5 feet if you ever need it.
