    I found four schools ……
there is only one small problem ….
each of the four schools … said he was the first to teach pole fitness in Montreal …
    so tell me?
    how to choose the best?

I would check if the instructors or students have posted videos on youtube so you can see a demonstration of their skills and pick from which style you like the best. You can also see if any of the schools offer teaser/sampler classes or open house evenings.

First doesn't always mean they are the best. The best way to see who is the best is to find out for yourself. Sample the classes from all four and pick for youself which one is best for YOU! You should be able to judge who is professional, who is properly trained, who knows what they are doing, etc. Good luck! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Just because someone may have opened before another, it doesn't mean that they are "better". Research to see who is safe (are any of these studios certified or have other credentials?), who is insured, the styles the teach, see if the class times line-up with your schedule, try to find reviews from students, videos, etc. You could always take a class or two from each studio and then weigh your options. Good luck!

I am going to be biased here but I would STRONGLY suggest Studio 409.  I would LOVE to take classes with Valerie!  They are present here on SV plus Val has the best videos…just seems like a really fun place to take classes.

They may all be great, but you need to decide which one is right for YOU. Different studios have different formats, and things can change from instructor to instructor as well. Some may focus on long 30-60 minute warm ups and strength conditioning at the beginning of class before even getting on the pole. Others concentrate on dance, tricks, sensuality, fitness… Or a combination… I personally go to 2 different studios and tried countless others. I’ve probably been through a dozen different instructors. I’ve learned something different from each one. If you can try each one, you’ll know where you feel comfortable.

Do they have any introductory classes? If not, you might ask them each what their formats are. What kind of warm ups do they do? What’s their philosophy? What do they focus on (tricks, senuality, pole fitness…)? If you can even go in one day either before or after class and talk to some students, ask them what they like about the studio and if they’ve tried the others. That information might help you decide. If they are all relatively close to you, you can always take a session from different ones and go back to the one you feel most comfortable with. Ask yourself what you hoping to get out of it right now. What appeals to you about wanting to learn pole? And remember, you don’t have to stay with the first one you sign up with.

Also, be sure of what you read on the sites.  First in Montreal, First certified in Montreal, and first fitness pole dancing school all do not say the same thing.
