Hi everyone! I think I’ve got the butterfly, I’ve uploaded a pic on my profile, it’s from my phone so it’s not that good quality but please let me know what you think πŸ™‚ thanks!

Very nice!  As you get stronger, you'll be able to bring your hands closer together and that will help push your body away from the pole more.  But you've got the gist of it no doubt.  πŸ™‚

Thanks for you reply πŸ™‚ Also my friend told me that the leg on the pole has to be hooked at knee rather than the calf along the pole but it seems everybody does it different?

Yours is looking ok! Dustbunny's 100% right about getting stronger and being able to get your body away from the pole a bit.  As far as the catch leg, I use my calf rather than a kneepit grip. I prefer the lines, and I think it's easier/smoother to extend it from there.

For some people, it depends how they get into it.  If you go into it from a gemini (outside leg hang) you will be hooked in the knee, I go into it from an inverted crucifix so my calf rests along the side of the pole.  I don't think one way is necessarily better or "right" just different.  I find it easier to transition into the extended butterfly from the "calf along the pole" variation because the ankle is already in place.  From the knee hook version you would have to bring the ankle to the pole first before extending and turning your hips.  But again, I don't consider either to be "right" or "wrong" just a matter of personal preference.  πŸ™‚

Thanks for clearing that up! I prefer it along the calf, I think I may even have the strength to push out a bit! So I will try next time! Thank you for your comments Γ°ΕΈΛœΖ’
