    I went to a class about a week and a half ago. only thing was that it was on a static pole and I am use to spinning. Well once I did one or two attempts on the stationary (failling by the way because of how different it was) my wrist began to ache and have since. It was not wrist burn, but feels like a sprain on both wrist. Only reason I don’t think it is a sprain is because it only hurts when I began to dance and stops my completely. Any help, should I wear a stunt on both wrist, should I stop dancing if I have them on… or is something else wrong?

    I've had achy wrists before from, though I'm not sure what I did. Wear wrist braces as much as you can for about a week. If it doesn't feel better by then, then you might want to talk to a doctor to see if it's not something worse. Try not to put an pressure on your wrists during that time.

    You were probably over gripping.  Also, if your body isn't prepared for it (lacking proper strength) or if your gripping wrong static spins are very hard on joints, like wrist, elbows and shoulders. Spin mode is simply doing holds/poses, while the pole moves you. Static spins are different. Check with a dr to make sure everything is ok. Then start working on some conditioning exercises for the wrist/elbows/shoulders. Be sure to stretch this areas after every pole session as well.     I had been doing spinning for abbout 3 mths without this problem so I know it was from the static.

    Spins on spin mode and spins on static are two totally different creatures.  Veena nailed it….you were probably over gripping due to being used to doing that on spin mode and then torqued your wrists.

    Particularly if you are wrapping your hand around the pole past neutral as many people working on static spins for the first time do and not even realize.

    Yea was kinda hoping it could be an easy fixits been about a total of 2 wks now without dancing and will be another week to fix my wrist. 🙁 but if I don’t recover them it will be a lot longer.

    I have this problem. I over grip on the static because I do most work on spin. I do not have a sprain or anything but I notice I over grip way too much. Can anyone suggest a way to not over grip. I feel like if I grip less, I’m going to fly off.
