Awesome! I've never used a 45 or 50 so it's good to see what they look like. Which do you prefer?

It's hard for me to judge the 38 totally as it was powder coated. I didn't have any problems gripping it and doing tricks, but I don't know if that would change if it were a stainless pole. The 38 overgripped my legs because of the powder coating. The hand grip was really good for me.
I really like 45's. I have one in brass and I tried the 45mm SS today, and I thought it was awesome! It's a nice middle ground when you want good hand and leg grip.
I hate 50mm's. They are just too big for my hands. It makes my wrists angry and I just get frustrated. I much prefer the smaller sizes with my little hands.

Those were custom made. Not hard to do actually. Any powder coating place should be able to do it.
There is a girl on here who had her brass x pole powder coated. If you have a pole that you want coated, just find a powder coating place and take it to them. 🙂

Sooo does that mean they could coat my chrome Xpole? Hmmm what a thought….I might just have to look into that. Not sure I want to mess with my pole but it's good to know it is an option.

They migh tbe able to. Not sure i they have to take the chrome plating off first or not.

I personally love my 45–it's a really nice in-between, and I can get a better grip on it than the 50 I had. I know some people complain about having to adjust their leg grip on the 45, but I actually haven't found that to be the case for me personally so far.

I have a 45mm chrome xpole but I'm taking lessons where I use a 50mm…I used to learned much faster on a 45mm than 50mm, at least on the hand grip, but now I realized they feel about the same (I guess as my strenght increase, I got better grip on the 50). Recently I'm learning more tricks that require good leg/thigh grip so I'm hating my 45 and loving the 50…lol I guess I just need to get used to it!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif

Mechi, it's funny, because pretty much everyone says the same thing–leg holds are easier on the 50, and when they switch to a 45, they have to figure out how to reposition themselves to get the hold properly even if it's one they already know well. I don't know why I haven't noticed much of a difference–maybe I am just unconsciously squeezing my thighs harder?

I don't think there is much difference between the 50 and the 45 with leg holds anymore. I actually find the CKR easier on the 45.

40mm xpole is my new baby & i love it. quite easy to get used to with leg holds i find. & is making practising the more advanced stuff a lot easier.
the 40mm is in my jouse & the studio has 45s & 50s so i make sure i go between them all to make sure im confortable using alll sizes.
would love a go on a 38 🙂

@ horsecrazy – I think it just me taking time getting used to gripping a 45 with my legs, I had similar problem with my hand grip when I use the 50mm, but now I don't notice a huge difference.
My legs/thigh doesn't have a lot of meat though…maybe that's another reason why it's taking me longer to get used to gripping the 45. sigh…

My studio only has 50mms and my hands barely fit halfway around them. There's a lot of spins that are hard for me (any sort of reverse grab) because my hand simply cannot get a good hold on the pole, no matter how hard i'm gripping.
I bought a 45mm for home but haven't put it up yet. I'm hoping I fare better with that.

Mechie – I have a lot of meat on the inside of my thighs; I am sure that makes gripping thinner poles easier for me. I can't imagine the difficulty of having no meat there. That would be tough.
fairy – You should be better off with a 45. The 38 would be really good for your hands! On the 45, my fingers barely touch, so you may nout have finger touching on the 45, but you would on the 38. I struggled on my 50 because of the gap between my fingers.
