So I'm new to the community and after years of school I decided to pick up a new challenge and decided to consider pole dancing. I always wanted to start and have a friend who has taught classes since she was 19…. my only thing is I'm from NJ (would like to try it out in a pole study), I'm a guy…. and i'm 24! I'd like to actually be decent and am wondering if it's to late to start? I'm in decent shape, going back to the gym, always pretty active…. but I hear pole dancing is a completely different monster at times! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_geek.gif Anyone know any pole studios in NJ that are open to men too? This looks right up my ally!

It's never to late to start! There's ladies (and men) well into their 40s, 50s, even 60s who pick up pole. You still have a pretty big advantage being in your twenties. And being a guy… damn you guys and your upper body strength. 🙂 I can't answer as to pole studios, but I would try calling around…

Welcome to the site! There are a few male pole dancers on here so you're not alone. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Too late to start? Absolutely not! Like Kyrelle stated…im sure you will be great cause of the upper body strength men naturally have. So get to it and post some videos! Lol.

And im not sure about Jersey pole schools. Maybe you should search under the friends section and locate other people  from Jersey and see if they attend any spots that may be close to you.

You should get a pole and subscribe to Veena's lessons. I bet you'll rock the pole. I love watching male pole dancers! It's never too late to start.

First of all welcome! and good choice! Pole is a great exercise and this community only makes it better. What everyone already said, never too old to start, specially when you already have some upper body strength. I started at 27, on my own, in terrible shape, no exercise in over 10 years (and not much before that either to be honest). Many here are self taugh also and Veena's lessons are a great way to get you started, so get a pole and good luck on your journey! 🙂

Welcome! I started myself at 24 and it was a wonderful challenge to take on. The strength and confidence you will develop are truly priceless. If you cannot find a school close to where you are, the lessons offered by Veena are a great way to start. If you truly do enjoy it and want more, you might be able to find a studio later on, but there's no shame in starting on your own! Just make sure for your own safety, that when you get to certain moves, anything upside down for instance, you always have someone with you for safety reasons, at least at first. Cheers!
