What’s this, and how do you get into it?
Posted by Terpsikhore on April 10, 2012 at 5:05 pmPurely for curiosity; there's no way I'm ever getting this move, not unless they invent an anti-gravity machine!
I've never seen this before…it's like a right-side-up Russian split, almost? How the devil would you get into it?

Seems like you’d do it from a horizontal split ( from the ground, facing pole, step one foot onto the pole and pull with arms to hover above the ground)… Based on her hand grip it looks like she started there and then pivoted on the foot on the pole until she was facing away… Absolutely insane shoulder and back flexibility.

I decided to give this a try this afternoon, I got into it exactly as Amy described above.

Amanda, aweeeesome. I am excited that it worked the way I imagined it in my head. 🙂

woow, this looks so unreal. I saw it on facebook this morning, too. I´m sure I´m not flexible enough, but I need to try that 😀

🙂
I lift into it.
The grip may vary too. I just think this one makes it look better, more even.
I´m glad u guys like it

Can you post a vid so I can see what Amy means. I have to see things to understand…(that's the kind of learner I am.)

nice to see the creator of that trick here 😀 i would like to see a video of it, too

Organic Angel, I dont do it the way she suggested. I lift into it, from the floor. Everything in the photo is in the start position – hands, head, foot. Then I push out the hips forward and mount in the bottom leg.
Just watch your knee if you go as high as I go. Mine is now hurt, so I am trying the other side. See it is twisted? It can hurt
Add me on fb, there are other photos showing it going up
