  • Breast popped out during performance

I have just finished my studio showcase tonight. It was great fun! However 30 seconds into the song I noticed my nipple popped out of the bikini top and i decided to keep going with the performance. So I finished my routine with one nipple being outside the whole time and obviously impacted my performance due to my self consciousness. There were photographers and videographers etc… Everybody said they were very impressed with my performance, however now all in my head is my nipple! Has anybody had the similar experiance?

why didn't u just pop it back in when you noticed it was out? you should wear pasties underneath next time, just in case…. this is why i'm afraid to perform in bikini tops and i always layer up!

LOL what a trooper! I would have done a floor move where I could bend over or something so I could quickly slip it back into the top. That's 1 of my performance nightmares so I usually wear a nude bra AND double sided tape all over my top half.

In the future invest in some nipple covers.

Oh, I think Alethea popped out during one of her performances recently and Felix had her bottoms break at the sides.

it happens, but some of the suggestions above will help if it really bothers you. I was taking lots of pics at the first Detroit showcase and figured out when looking back through them I had one of Veena with a slipage so it can happen to anyone!

At the Detroit show a few months ago a woman was dancing w just pasties on….they twirlie things on them. She really was shaking them and the twirlie things were spinning when one of them flew right off! She quick covered her boob, then was like, with, and ended up taking her had off and letting us all see. Everyone cheered, it was fun, she had fun, I am SURE there are pictures out there. But when u do things like we do w skimpy outfits, it’s bound to happen! I wouldn’t even worry about it. Janet Jackson had the nipple incident, and she became more famous for it! 🙂

Anybody seen Lola Frost vids on Youtube? There is a great one where she is performing a menswear-inspired strip tease (its so awesome!)  to that quintessential Portishead song, and one of her pasties ends up coming off. Since she's such a sassy confident performer, she just ends up taking the other one off, flicking it to the side, and strolling off at the end of her number. Granted, its burlesque, so, shes not wearing a whole lot anyways, but still, its a great recovery for a costume malfunction.

The ladies had an open house performance dress rehearsal and it was all major slippage from the top, sides, and bottoms of their bra tops. They used a clothing stick spray for the performance and didn’t have a slip. I don’t remember the name of the product but its got to be a pretty easy to find item if they are using it here.

try not to let it get to you…this happens to the best of us sometimes! No one can predict how best to react in that situation either so don't second-guess yourself. For the future, I would invest either in double sided fashion tape OR a product like Bikini Bite ( which fitness competitors use to keep their string bikinis in place)> if you have room to layer under yr costume, use something that is the same colour as yr outfit ( if it is a purely pole performance). When I do burlesque, I always wear a flesh coloured string under my final pair of of underwear just in case.

Fashion tape doesn’t work near as well as wig tape. Wig tape is designed to resist all kinds of sweat and movement. Plus it’s less expensive. Learned that from a lady who provides wigs for cancer patients.

Thanks again everyone for the encouragement. I decided to participate my first competion in June with a brand new routine and brand new confidence! Pole is like life, most of the time things do not go with the way as planned, but it won’t stop me from experiencing and exploring!

Ahhh!! You must have been so distracted worrying but what a professional to keep going with the dance!!!! I bet you did amazing even so 🙂 When I was in the burlesque troupe I had to strip out of my bra while holding a huge feather fan in front of me and then dangle the bra over my head. What I didn't expect was that there would be audience members not only in FRONT of the stage but on the sides too. Let's just say anybody sitting on the side of the stage got a free show. After that it was pasties pasties pasties!!!! 🙂
