Has anyone ever restrained an old strain? I strained my neck MONTHS ago. It took a few weeks, but eventually the discomfort went away. Now, months later it's bothering me again in the same place (although I cannot pinpoint an exact spot. I think I strained a deeper muscle.)

I'm dealing with a shoulder strain right now, originally damaged from a car accident 13 yrs. ago.  It's never been quite right since, it's fragile.  I ice and compress, take motrin to reduce the swelling, and don't do anything with it (except mild stretching).  It usually clears up in about two weeks. Good luck.

Same thing is happening to my non dominant wrist. And it was a surprise to see how much I actually use that arm in clibs, inverts, etc.

I keep pissing off my wrist over and over again as well. I'm not as concerned about that one as my neck though. I'm figuring out what moves anger my wrist and am just going to avoid doing them. My neck, on the other hand, is a mystery. I strained a ligament in my low back in 2004 and it took up until very recently to stop having flare ups (although that side is now extremely tight.)

I know Luvlee has been wearing wrist-band things on her wrists and says they've been helping…as for your neck you might want to see a doctor, probably don't want to mess with your neck : /

SensualScimitar, I hope they can help get to the bottom of what is going on and get you some relief.

Aerial Amy had a really cool blog on wrist wraps called 'Strength Wraps', here is that link.

I have restrained old strains… motor vehicle accident trauma re-injured by more motor vehicle accidents… those are really tough with soft tissue and some structural damages. Have had years of physical therapy and now I try to strenthen and avoid positions that will freak it out. Like laying on my back or side and propping my head up on hands. I also experienced a hamstring injury during Bikram yoga around 6 years ago… took a few months to heal. Have to be really warm and mindful with straddles or else it flares a bit.

Let us know how things go… I hope you get to feelng better.

I have thought about getting me some wraps. I might do that. I think I need to work more on grip with my left hand though. It's way weaker than my right hand.
