It looked like fun spinning around a pole, like a ride. Eventually I started to feel sexy and started to learn it to show my husband and now I do it because it’s still fun like a game, getting a new move down feels so good like getting to another level in a video game.

I started mainly for the fitness part, but also fell in love with how sexy and confident it made me feel. It seems it’s hard for us women to be able to express our sensuality without being labeled something negative in this world. Pole allows me to do so in a manner that’s conducive to marriage, also 😉

I grew up doing gymnastics and various form of dance but had stopped when I became an adult  do to being a poor student. Pole fitness combines both gymnastics and dance and I love that!!! It fuels both the athlete and the artistic person inside me. 🙂

I'm the same… I don't have any dance experience, would like to gain confidence and for fitness reasons.

So no entertainers at all?? =)

I have no previous dancing/gymnastics/acrobatics background. Heck I didn't even do yoga or any sort of stretching prior to starting up pole dancing.  I was a very inactive person.  I started up pole dancing because I'm the type of person who does not like to keep up with any sort of exercise regime unless it's absolutely fun.  Felt like a blob on a log so I decided to take up pole dancing for fitness.

Working in the entertainment industry as a dancer is what sparked by Pole obsession but my training is much more fitness motivated than entertainment.  I do some tricks at work when im in the mood to dance but honestly doing pole tricks isnt where the money is at… its a good conversatoin starter while im working the floor but while im onstage doing bad ass tricks It seems to keep guys in their seats as if they dont want to interupt me.

Pole is so much more to me than entertainment. It has given me a new purpose in life, lead me to meet some incredible people, have incredible experiences and even offers new career opprotunities!

I enjoyed my first competition last weekend and after I complete my instructor certification by KT Coates at the IPC I'll be a stripper turned pole dance instructor =P I would never have guessed i'd be where I am now in life thru an interest I found in a smokey strip club, heh.

    Been an interesting journey!

While I was growing up, my mother explained "stripper poles" as "strippers grind on them." Needless to say, that did not impart to me a very open mind. A year or two ago I saw a Groupon for a local pole dance studio and felt very offended. My my! I'm laughing to remember it.

One day I saw a link to a YouTube video in my boyfriend's or someone else's browser history. It was highlights from a USPDF competition. I watched the video and was astonished at the amazingly graceful gymnastic tricks performed by these women spinning around poles! That sowed the seeds of interest…

Last year I saw another Groupon for a local pole studio offering a valentine's day floor/lap dance class. I was eager to pick up some sensual moves to share with my future husband. So with much trepidation, I showed up to the studio for this class. It turned out to be mostly floorwork and I enjoyed it so much I came back to try the pole classes… and the rest was history!

I've been poling at least weekly for a year now. I'm awed by the strength and flexibility I've acquired; I never thought I could feel so motivated at and have such fun with an activity that provides such an intense workout! With a background in dance, I also appreciate the graceful and sensual aspects of many of the less physically demanding moves and value this creative outlet for the expression of my femininity. Between both the fitness and dance aspects, I am continually inspired by the kind of confidence that it imparts to me and other women.

My boyfriend (who at first seemed confused, mildly curious and cautiously supportive) has since picked up some of my enthusiasm. Although he has not watched me pole, he is looking forward to me having a pole and recently talked about where we could put it in his apartment when we get married. 😀

Oh dear. Double posts are always frustrating, but they are doubly frustrating when I've just composed the War and Peace of replies.

    Good question 🙂

I've been physically active most of my life. I didn't dance though – only studied martial arts and lifted weights. The thing is I've always wanted to dance, but I didn't believe I can. A couple of years ago, I decided to start bellydancing – but there was something missing there for me. I felt like I needed my dance to be "dirtier" *ahm*.

So I started looking at strip dances in youtube, and then I found a video demonstrating some pole tricks in youtube. My mind was instantly blown. Pole dance had everything – it was challenging, it was gymnastics, it was sexy, it was dance, it was exotic – I just had to learn it!

It took me a couple of years to find someone who would teach me (it didn't even occure to me that you can learn it at home, alone), but now I'm here – dancing as much as my sore body allows me, and can't get enough 🙂

My boyfriend has always had a serious fixation with exotic dancers.

I have always been that girl who is too shy to dance at the bar (unless very drunk) not very confident in my sexuality/appearance, etc. I've always loved music and dancing, I simply never had the confidence to exhibit that love. A few years ago I got into fitness and lost a bunch of weight, I got a personal training certification and I gained a lot of confidence in my ability to perform physical feats. I always wanted to try pole dancing classes, I simply never had the impetus to sign up for them!

I had always known my boyfriend was really into strip clubs and exotic dancers, and I didn't mind so much. I know he would never cheat on me or anything like that. My boyfriend doesn't favour monogamous relationships though, so when I found out he had spent a ton of bucks on lap dances a few months ago it made me feel really jealous and competitive! After that I felt compelled to show him up (in a good natured way) and eventually that motivated me to join classes. I figure one day I might dance in a club, make some  money, make it rain on him and then pick it all up and spend it on myself. LOL. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

I say it is for both… I love entertaining people with my Pole Play but I do not dance in a strip club…I also being sexy for myself  & my King…Not to mention I love showing off my moves to any & everybody body …any and everywhere (If there is a pole lol).. Even if that means showing a stripper a move I know in the club lol
