So the other day I noticed that the top ofmy right foot had a noticable lump that my left foot didn't. Naturally my first instinct was to poke at it. When poked I got tingly pins and needles feelings in my foot. I am wondering If I have nerve damage. I will be seeing my doctor on Tuesday so I will bring it up then…my only wonder is what caused it….Has anyone had an issue like this from poling?

    Thanks in advance. 🙂

Are you using just the top of your foot to climb, or are you using your foot and shin?

I use the shin and the top of my foot in a climb.

I pretty much have no feeling in the top of my climbing foot and most poole dancers that I know you can look at their feet and tell which one they use to climb.  I would still get it checked out but it probably is not anything major.

It doesn't hurt or anything, I'm just more concerned if I could cause permanent nerve damage…To be honest I am not even sure If pole is what caused it….

If you have a swollen bruise, it may be pressing a nerve. A doc should be able to tell you.

So just an update in case anyone else has this issue, I saw my doctor who said its most liked a type of callus that can build up on bone that irritates the nerves. If you alleviate the pressure it can go away on its own. I did get x rays just to be safe though. 🙂
