So far I have been able to go into super shouldermount https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/4f8f84bc-6d18-4eda-b456-56390ac37250

The other day I tried going into gemini or scorpio and it's doable, just need to work on cleaning it up.  I'll post practice of it in few days.

I've tried ther shoulder mount flip with veena grip, as that's how I was taught, but still can't get the flip, so tabled it for now.  I'm sure other more accomplisher polers can give you more ideas.

I love the Veena grip for the SM flip!  I like it for a closed shoulder split and I also use it when the pole is a little more slippery than I'm comfortable using cup grip on.  You can do basically any shoulder mount move with it!

What side is the SM flip?

My right shoulder on the pole and my right hand is high.

If your right shoulder is on the pole then your legs will go over that same side.

Wait, shouldn't the hand of the shoulder you mount on be low and the other high? Or have I been doing this wrong all along? OR does it not matter?

I shoulder mount on my left and keep my left hand low and right hand high in all grips…

My understanding and according to veena's lesson, the hand of the shoulder mounted on is low and the other high.  I sm and shoulder super invert on my left shoulder, left hand low and other high.

Also, my understanding of sm flip is over the shoulder that is mounted and low hand.

    Hookedonpole is spot on.

However, I've known several girls who were more comfortable shoulder mounting with the shoulder side hand being the high one.  There are so many different grips for that move that I don't think it really matters.  BUT for the flip it definitely makes a difference to do it the correct way!

**By "correct way" I mean the way the tutorial is for the flip.  No disrespect meant to any other SM grips!**  ðŸ™‚

Hooked is right, in order for it to be a "Veena grip" the hand of the shoulder you mount on is low, the other is extended fully. I wouldn't suggest swithing the hands for this grip. RikkiL is correct too, it's good to try all kinds of grips, but I do also think the V grip is one of the nicest to use for a flip, because it offers a lot of control at the top of the move.
