Ahhhh I just spent four hours on the computer waiting for my vid to upload…. and it was still only 60%!! Had to cancel it…. past my bedtime…. dissapointing 🙁 Does it take so ridiculously long for everyone else or is it my computer? (only i just uploaded a vid to youtube and it only took an hour…. which makes me think its not my computer…) Is it possible that maybe if the website is super busy with heaps of users logged on at same time…. everything becomes a bit jammed? *sigh* off to bed now… might try again tomoz…

Mine used to take hours until I realized I could render the video at a different quality. After I started doing that, they uploaded in minutes (although the video quality isn't high.)

Yeah, the video quality counts, so also the type of file.  If I upload .AVI files directly from my camera it takes forever; if I run them through iMovie or a similar movie editor and export them as .MOV files they upload very quickly.

We use a cloud based upload destination so how busy the website is doesn't matter.  Upload speed is going to be determined by the size of your video file and the upload speed of your internet service.

Some tips to reduce the size of your upload:

    1) You can usually reduce the video quality on your camera and it will have little to no visual effect on you video
    2) Most editing programs will compress the video on export, which means a smaller file
    3) Our website doesn't support full 1080p HD so reducing your image quality to a 720p will reduce your file size significantly

There are times I notice I don't get to 100%.  If I see a stall at 40%, etc, I just cancel and try again.  Usually goes right through on the next time.

Ok thanks all good tips! Right… well glad its not frm website user congestion… cause its a god thing so many of us are on here! Ok will look into reducing quality… even though it goes against the grain… but if there isnt actually much visual difference then it may be worth it… save me HEAPS of time. Thanks!
