Okay, so how do you guys unstick your thigh out of Jate or Pike to Gemini? My thigh catches, which is extremely painful. I can't just "slide it" into that position.  Any tips?

This might seem like a dumb thing to say, but are you using your hands, and if so, have you tried a new grip while inverted? I haven’t summoned up the courage to attempt jade yet, but from pike to gemini, my leg was catching until I distributed the weight on my hands differently. I’m not sure what the grip is called, but instead of doing the same grip you do in chopper, I put my left hand facing thumbs up and my right hand under my back facing thumbs down.

Have you tried a slicker pole metal? On my brass pole, I cannot go from an inverted thigh hold to Gemini bc the pole pulls my thigh skin too much. There is no give on my brass with skin sticking. The skin stickage feels better on the chrome pole I have. It’s like the pole will grab my skin, but it will release it when I need it to, unlike my brass which will grab onto my skin for dear life and not let go.

As a workaround for days when you're extra grippy…. you could go into inside leg hang from the various hip holds, it's easy peasy and then you can do a leg switch to outside.

I know what's not exactly what you asked for but it will work. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

@StudioVeena, Im going to try to do a video tomorrow.  I have a chrome pole so it really isn't too grippy. I went to class today and she suggested I held onto the pole with a thumb-down grip and then move into pike to gemini. So far that works, but Im not sure if its the "prettiest" option 🙂

Top Hand (True) grip.  I haven't been using my hands.
