So we moved in last night spent the first night here, I didnt bring the pole up though because I cant seem to find my rods but think I know where I put them….anyways, I noticed that there is artex on the ceiling in every room, I wanted to put my pole in the living room as its the biggest room and def more leg kicking space, but Im afraid it will damage the artex and it will be expensive to fix.

Does anyone else have artex on there ceiling and can you tell me if the pole is a pain in the bahooky to put up with artex? much appreciated thanks xx

I have read the xpole webste incase someone asks, and it says that it could damage the ceiling depending on how much uneven preasure is put on it, but is there ways around it maybe a mat or board I can put under the cpole to protect the roof?

Both times I’ve bought my poles, it has been from women in apartments who have used half inch boards to distribute pressure. From ten minutes of watching them take down the pole, I had noticed no ceiling dents, but they both had carpet indentations (the same ones you get from having a couch in one place, I assume they go away.) I personally have not had an issue with like…circular denting? But my pole is in a water damaged area of my garage. And that entire quarter of my garage has domed upwards. Even when I take my pole down my ceiling just sits there like, “HAHA, NOPE, PERPETUALLY CURVED, ENJOY ME LOOKING ODD.”

Lol oh dear but its in the garage tho and not ur home so I guess that’s the good thing about that. To get rid of indentations in ur carpet I was once told to put ice cubes on them apparently this helps push the carpet fibres back up. Something tells me tho this won’t work on the ceiling. Artex has ruined my life lol but I will try a board to level out the preasure HOPEFULLY this works. Thanks a lot for the reply x

Yeah, I’m pretty sure it won’t dent your ceiling, but I’m not sure about the artex :/

My first pole room had pop corn textured artex, and I didn't have any trouble. You may loose a few pieces but nothing that was noticeable.

Aw that’s for that veena even if someone lied tellin me it wud be fine I’d still be happy to hear I can use my baby lol 🙂 I shall update on how it goes maybe get a soft rubber mat just to go between the pole and artex be doubly safe. Its rented flat that’s y I’m botherin if it was my house I’d go ahead and not worry too much 🙂 thanks folks xx

is it the pop corn kind of artex? If so I wouldn't put up a rubber mat, you'll probably end up loosing far more ceiling bits than only using the dome!
