Hey all!  So, while I have been poling for several months now, getting a pretty v-invert has been a toughie for me.  Well, today I was watching my practice video and I noticed that part of the reason is that I am… well, crooked!  In particular, keeping my outside hand higher than my inside hand causes me to tilt to the outside.  So I thought– what happens if I switch my hand position?

Sure enough, inside arm high, I did a perfect v-invert and held it without any difficulty!

Am I a weirdo, or has anyone else done this/noticed this?  So weird!

(… well, I'm sure the fact that I'm a weakling might be contributing to this weirdness.  haha)

I used to do this too when I first started.  I found part of my problem to be that my outside wrist was not neutral when I grabbed the pole to set up for an invert, it would wrap around behind the pole.  Then, when my feet would come up off the ground I would swing around towards a neutral position.  It was rather awkward, and not very pretty.  I think part of it was that I was compensating for a lack of grip strength, or I should say "perceived" lack of grip strength.  Once I realized that straightening out that wrist eliminated the swing, I was fine.
