I had a pole class today and my WHOLE body was sweating to the point I couldn't do anything! I mean, initial spin my palm was too sweaty to even pull it off without wiping several times. Poles were brass and I didn't think the temperature in the room was too hot. However, I walked around outside before class and was pretty warm when I went in. I didn't think the class was so strenuous that I should be sweating that bad…but even the back of my thighs were sweating! I had a massage yesterday but took a shower last night to wash off any leftover lotion. I've experienced different temps, humidity levels, etc. and understand that it's a combination thing, but my question is, is there a product that I can put on my body to prevent this? I plan on getting Grrrip because it works really well for my hands, but how about the rest of my body? Thanks ladies : )

    Tite Grip!

Also – the brass makes me SWEAT a lot!  I mean this time of yeat it's fairly common to body sweat – that's what I do when I practice nowadays however some Grrrip spray and Tite Grip should help a lot 🙂

Sorry I made you so sweaty <3

Alos this time of year it's good to be and stay extremely hydrated as dehydration can lead to more sweating.  It's also helpful to avoice things like coffee, tea, energy drinks or anything with a lot of caffeine – easier said than done, I know but that should help with the sweating too.

Thanks for the tips Charley! I was  just SO unusually sweaty yesterday, it was crazy! I figured grip aids might help, I hadn't even thought about caffeine and hydration (I was sipping on a large iced coffee right up until class started, oh, and I had a few beers last night, so it's adding up now!).

Were you on your period? I feel like I get sweatier (and weaker) on my period.

You should see about keeping a fan nearby so you can air dry off.

Nope, wasn't that time, but a fan sounds heavenly! If I could have dried off a bit I might have been ok, my poor little towel that I carry just wasn't doing the trick!

Maybe it was just Charley…she's so hot! ; )

I have this problem too, like by the end of m 1 hr class.. my shins will be sweating to where its impossible to climb. I bring a towel too but don't like to use grip aids. I have a pair of gloves but really onle use them for cartwheels at the end of class.

I wondered if i just sweat too much? but i think the hydration thing may also be a problem for mee.. i really should drink more water.. hm.

Then again I do live in S florida and the average temp right now seems to be around 90 degrees, but the class is set at 71. i wish it didn't effect m daning thi much, and its a recent thing  for me too…

Thanks for sharing your experience VeeRose! It seemed pretty strange to me, I didn't know I could sweat from all those places! But I guess it's just a matter of dialing in on all of these variables…I'm not a fan of grip aids either, but I'm going to give them a shot (along with the hydration tips) and see if that helps.
