PREGNANT!!
Posted by Beautiful Disaster on July 12, 2012 at 4:47 pmI just found out i'm about 6wks pregant and recently bought a pole. I want to continue to do pole fitness during my pregnancy but am unsure of the risks. Does anyone know if doctors allow this type of activity or do i need to say bye bye till post baby?

This thread may help you.
https://www.studioveena.com/forums/view/338. Always stick to exercises your familiar with when pregnant and speak with your midwife or dr about what's best for you.
Congrats!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I'm so happy for you!! I'm sure your hubby and little one are excited too. I am hoping to get to open pole during this session's hiatus, so maybe I'll see you there. Just need to wait for my darn wrist to get better and stronger. Congratulations, again!!

@StudioVeena, my friend just recently found out that she is in the same situation, and I had just started teaching her pole dancing. The link you provided does not work for me. It just comes up blank. Could you repost it or look into that please?

It was just a link for a discussion posted here resently about pregnancy. If you use the search you’ll find a number of posts on this topic 🙂

My pole instructor is due to drop in december she now just teaches begginers but she been polling for years and took part in the studios work record for longest pole dace relay at 12 week . A 8 week pregnant women came to class and she turned her down. Her fear was being new to pole a nasty bang or anything to belly. I’ve slipped on spins b4 when lost grip. My opion is wait till baby here. Then start proper I couldn’t think of a better way to get rid of baby weight. You got sumthing beutiful and amazing growing dnt risk it your pole will be there in 9 month still. That’s my advice any way hope this helped xxx congrats too 😀

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!! I had to respond to this because I also found out about a month and a half ago that I am pregnant. I am at 10 weeks now. I am currently an instructor but have recently had to drop all but one of the classes I teach due to some intense morning (all day sickness). I am wondering the same thing as you because once this morning sickness subsides I would really like to start poling much more than what I'm doing now but I want do do what's safest for my baby. I really love poling so much and have been pretty depressed about not being able to do it much lately. There is this workshop I really want to take near the end of December but I think I will be around 3 and a half months by then. I really, really want to take the workshop but I'm wondering if I should hold off.
I really wish the best for you and your baby. When I'm not sick I have not had any issues teaching beginner level classes so maybe you can do the gentle, dancy type poling without all the tricks. I have to admit, when I was by myslef I did sneak in some climbs just to see if I felt any different doing it and I practiced different mid-level spins. I felt pretty much the same except a little more dizzy after teaching and pole play. Maybe you will be alright just doing some light poling. Anyways, sorry about my rambling and hopefully you will be able to fit some poling in here and there while pregnant. : )

I was in your situation. I had a pole before i was pregnant, but as soon as i was ready to put it back up, i found out i was pregnant. Because i didnt pole much before i decided against it. And because my daughter was delivered via c section i had to wait even longer. But like it was said preciously, it is an awsome and fun way to lose baby weight! CONGRATS!!!!!!!
