Detroit area pole studios
Posted by jeng on July 16, 2012 at 4:57 pmI will be in detroit middle of August for a week and am looking for a studio that I can either attend an advanced pole class, private class or just go in and practice on my own. I've been poling for about 4 years now so I'm not interested in any beginner or intermediate classes.
Let me know if you have any recommendations.

I believe Kyrelle works at a studio in Detroit, she's advanced so she could point you in the right direction, look up her profile 🙂

Otherwise you can type into the Polenation.com search box and it will pull up studios in the area.

I'm a big fan of Vixen http://vixenfitness.com/ and have been going for the last year and a half. The ladies there are great and very talented! There are other studios around that I've heard good things about, I just haven't had a chance to check them out. But you definately shouldn't have a problem finding something!

I work at Fantasy Fitness in Detroit! We actually just held our first advanced class today. If you have been poling that long it may not be advanced enough for you though. We also have "Pole Play" on Sundays — basically an open pole practice session for all levels. Feel free to message me if you want more info.
The only other studio in the area I have visited is Pole Addiction, but I know Vixen and PoleFIT Revolution are also in the area if you want to search around. I am not sure what they offer in regards to advanced level classes but Charley works at Vixen if you wanted to get in touch with her as well!

Middle of August is going to be rough for Charley as she is competing in Midwest Pole Comp on the 25th (BTW, aren't you too, Kyrelle??). I would also check out Detroit Fly house (seeing as you are on silks in your photo).
I am not sure if Shadow is teaching at any specific studio but I know she offers privates when she comes to Cleveland. You might want to hit her up.

Thanks for the feedback. I already contacted Detroit Flyhouse since I wanted to do silks while I'm there as well.

I'm not currently working besides and intermediate class at Vixen in Detroit. I might be able to do a private but your best bet is to contact either Fantasy Fitness or Pole Addiction – Pole Addiction does both pole and silks and has drop in options. There is also a free Flight Club on Wednesdays at Pole Addiction basically a big pole and aerial jam. I believe the infamous Ms. Shadow is now teaching at Pole Addiction, she's awesome.

Well I tried to sign up for open pole at Vixen Fitness but they don't allow non members. That sucks cause they were only 5 minutes from where I'm staying. Pole Addiction doesn't have any availability for open pole after 5pm and Shadow doesn't appear to be available on the schedule for private classes during the week.
I've reached out to Charley to see if she can do a private. Also looking at another studio but I would have to drive 45 minutes to get there.
Any other suggestions?

You could try Studio 88 in Farmington Hills. It's about 30 mins from the Vixen Fitness area.
