    Hi there!

So, I have recently built up enough strength to do a forearm grip ayesha and wanted to move on to elbow before I try split grip.  The problem is… my elbow pit is apparently in a permanent state of gross sweaty slipperiness.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif  I have tried everything– washing with soap and water, using mighty grip, itac2, dry hands, deoderant (haha, desperation) on my elbow pit, trying early in my workout before I'm too sweaty and gross –everything!  Will I never be capable of an elbow grip?  Does anyone else have this issue, and how do you deal with it?

I have a pretty sturdy extended butterfly and am tempted to just move straight on into split grip, because I'm losing hope that I will ever pull of an elbow grip anything!

Are you able to do an one armed embrace or elbow grip skater? I think that would be a good way to learn how to squeeze the pole (through the sweat https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif) without having to go upside down.

Also maybe It's easier to learn an elbow grip caterpillar and elbow grip caterpillar climb before Aysha?

I will have to try some of the upright elbow grips!  I can typically struggle through an elbow reverse caterpillar but as you can imagine it's not my preferred grip.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif

Wipe your elbow off with alcohol right before! Good luck….its always something that gets in our way, right!? But then we beat it…AND get the move. Pole addiction fedhttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

maybe a little Tite grip…it's supposed to help with very sweaty hands/.. You could also try …rotating your forarm so your knuckles are towards your chest.. so wrap elbow around like normal..then rotate the forearm..it might help you get out of the elbow pit slightly..that area might be a little less sweaty?

I learned the split grip ayesha a year ago and am just now trying to get the forearm grip and elbow grip.  If you have a strong extended butterfly you might find the split grip ayesha to be quite manageable.
