I'm getting the start of some super awesome calluses on my hands from pole, which I read about and expected, but I'm also getting some NASTY ones on my heels. I haven't been wearing new shoes (besides my pole shoes) and I do sometimes dance barefoot… does anyone else have this problem or am I doing something wrong?

Also, does anyone else notice that they callus most on their middle finger, middle joint? That's where mine seem to be coming in. Maybe I'm just all around strange. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_ugeek.gif

    WARNING: Gross pic!

    Don't say I didn't warn you…

Oh no, all of this is normal! I have large calluses that encompass the ball of my foot, bottom of big toe, and the heel. I just have one of those little pedicure tools, kinda looks like a mini cheese grater. When I finish a long bath, I’ll use the tool. I’ll remember once every two weeks or so. With some lotion, that does help to keep your feet looking nice enough for shoes without needing to spend tons of money on pedicures.

I also get My calluses mainly at the base of each middle finger, on the joint. It seems to be the normal place to get them from what I’ve seen! So you’re all totally normal. 🙂

I just have the ones from regular heel wearing as I haven't gotten into it yet. The middle part of my foot that takes all the weight is calloused which makes it loads easier to wear heels than when I started. I also just use some of those pedicure tools after a good soak; the $1 ones with the cheap plastic handles work surprisingly great. Just don't file to the point of it feeling painful. Congratulations on being that much tougher! 🙂

One trick i can give you is get pedicures every once in a while and put cream on your feet every night before going to bed

I usually try to avoid pedis because then I have to build my calluses back to even wear regular heels comfortably https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif I figure as long as I don't date a foot fetish-ist, I'll be ok :P!

I avoid pedis as well.. The calluses are kind of there for a reason. They protect my feet while I’m dancing barefoot(which is 75% of the time) and I can’t pirouette and slide on soft feet!
