I just wanted to introduce myself. I have been on here for about a week now. I have taken a few classes before, but just got a used x-pole from the instructor at the studio I went to for classes. Finally got it set up, and am just starting my pole journey.

I have never been able to find an exercise program I could stick to. I have always loved music and dancing (just for fun). Recently, I discovered both pole & hooping. I like the athletic and flexibility potential that pole offers, and could use a boost in the “sexy” confidence department. Now that I have a pole of my own, I can work out at home. I think this may be my perfect match.

I am originally from the DC area (Alexandria, VA), but now live in North County San Diego (Vista, CA). I am 33, married, and we have our own business. Looking to maybe meet some local pole buddies to share this journey with. Everyone here seems very supportive so far.

    Hello and welcome!

I’m not local unfortunately but a lot of people on the forum pole jam. If you have a web cam I am sure there will be lots of people to jam with.

Welcome! and welcome to California! I'm in Escondido and work in Carlsbad. If you're interested there's a great studio in Sorrento Valley called Sumara Pole. We even have 15 foot poles! I like it because (like here) it's more than just pole instruction. It's a community.

For your home workouts, do you have a routine? I have a pole at home along with doing classes twice a week. I am still working on what to do when I'm home besides playing around. I need more structure at home! 🙂

Hey Serena! Sumara is actually where I did my classes (at her old studio). I scored my used pole from her last weekend because she got all of those new 15′ poles for the new place.

I would like to take a few classes, but it’s been so long since my last one that she said I would have to take the intro first. I guess her whole curriculum has changed. I find the location a tad far, and wish there were one in Vista/Oceanside. I may have to reconsider and join you for a class sometime, though.

I haven’t yet established an at home routine yet. So far, I have just started using the online lessons here. I hear you on the not sure what to do here by myself part. A little structure would be helpful.

I take classes at Sumara Pole with Serena =] We would love to have you come out and take classes with us. The curriculum has changed enough that an intro class would be a good idea.

When I first started taking classes I lived in Vista (Love Boutique used to have poles and offer classes.) I moved and found the studio I'm at now. I have a pole at home as well as a stage pole that I can….in theory, bring to other locations. (I also recently bought a hoop without knowing anything other then that it was fun when I was a kid…so why not??)

Looking forward to maybe having pole and hoop play dates with you =]

The Dollhouse Fitness in Encinitas is awesome! The instructors are really great and friendly too. They are always keeping up with the latest moves/techniques in the pole industry too.
