Posted by Lyme Lyte on November 1, 2012 at 10:17 pmI am ready to order another pole and have decided on the following:
40 X-pert chrome (not a huge lover of chrome) OR
38 PS brass.
Can you ladies help me out? Thanks!

My opinion is very bias! I would go for the 38 brass pole. It's such a skinny mini pole and makes me feel like The Incredible Hulk! I'm also not a big fan of chrome, and if you aren't either, why get something that you know you don't like? It just seems like kind of a waste of money… And then maybe you'll play around on it and figure you REALLY dislike chrome. Then you'll never touch the pole again!
Again… my opinion is very bias!

Does your pole room stay at a warmer temp? I'm just asking beause my grip problems are coming back. I forgot what it was like to pole in colder weather. I have a space heater going in my pole space almost all day and it still takes me a heck of a lot longer to warm up enough to get anything done on chrome. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

I will be getting a BIG space heater. Thanks for the advice ladies!

I love my chrome 45mm, but would really love to try 40mm. I have similar issues with chrome, love it through spring summer in U.K. but once Autumn comes I spend about 45 mins just sliding down it unless I turn the heat up!! I would def get 40mm chrome if I ever sell my 50mm static x pole but worried about leg grip, thigh grips with a 40mm as I could only have one pole up, please keep us posted if u get the 40mm.

38 is great for hand grip and knee pit moves, but I get nervous trying the Ayesha since there is so little pole to hold on to. 45 as you know has decent hand grip with good leg grip. The 40 is becoming my new favorite because it is good in all aspects. Call x pole and see if they have an eta in the 40 brass, otherwise you can Oc the chrome or get the 38.

I am tired of waiting for the brass x to come to the states. I will still have my 45 and 50 for other moves. Just that my 5 ft little hands need the small diameter for grip.

Not sure if I misread, but x-pole us does make a brass in 45 and 40

unless you were talking about a 38, then you can ignore me @_@

I'm glad you decided to go with the 38mm brass Lyme! I'm sure you will love that pole to bits! I must urge you to try new tricks/strength moves/etc on your other poles though just so you know you can do them on a bigger pole. Sometimes it's just better to learn on a smaller pole than starting off with a bigger pole.. I could never have done the reverse grip straight up on a 50mm, so I learned how to on the 38mm. To this day my reverse on a 50mm is still iffy, but is fine on a 45mm and spectacular on a 38mm!

Reverse spin/grab/thing…….. …. I literally had a brain fart and I can't remember that spin… LOL

I was considering getting an x-pole in 45 brass, but the old brass x-poles, someone said they felt like the brass was brushed on?
I’ve also considered electro-plating my chrome pole brass. Someone else here said they were going to do that, but I don’t think they posted results 😐

I know some people have powder coated with success. I spray painted my pole this summer copper (u can see my pictures). Anyway, I love the grip of it, but have danced with heels and so a little of the paint is scraping off (not that you can feel it but you can see it if you look close). I will probably do a once a year touch up.
As for the Xpole, it cost about $150 more than the PS one piece brass. I don't care if I cant take it down. I am going to get the permanent PS pole. Plus, I am very interested in getting a 38, which PS has a brass. I am small and as Lana Lee said, she loves it. Also she mentioned she can't do a reverse grab spin, nor can I! I hope this smaller size will be my answer. I did use a 40mm X last year and loved the size of it, so more excited for a 38. Thanks for everyones help.
