Heels and Carpet?!
What can I put on my carpet under my stripper pole, so I can dance in stripper heels properly? At first, I thought that plexi- glass would work but it cracked. Does anyone know anything else that I can use? I literally don’t have anywhere I can put my new pole.

I’ve found putting tape on the bottom of my heels works really well. The saleswoman told me that if you rub the bottoms down on cement it’ll help ease the grip- I haven’t tried this bc the tape worked well enouugh for me. Hope that helps.

I taped over the bottom of my shoes and it does make pivoting on the ball of my foot much easier but I find I slip sometimes, when I don’t mean to!! I suppose how much grip you keep/lose must depend on your carpet and the type of tape you use.
I left my boots untaped and I manage alright with the plain rubbery sole. They do leave black smudges on the (cream) carpet whenever I pivot, but I stopped worrying about keeping my carpet pristine when I got a dog haha.
I’ve seen someone put down a square of laminite flooring but that’s not really an option for me, since my pole lives in the middle of my living room! Carpet isn’t that bad. If you’re playing with floorwork, you can put on long leg warmers so you don’t get friction burns on your knees, if you’re clumsy like me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I do not have this on carpeting but I had it in my garage….I have a piece of wall paneling that was left over from a bathroom remodel. I basically had this but in silver….cost was $20 for a 4×8 panel

On top of it you can run lights around the base and have your own light up "stage".

I had this beautiful laminate flooring installed just a few months ago. It was really great for dance, but it was really loud and I live next door to a Marmaduke sized dog, and the walls are thin.
Then, accidentally, I had a small flood in my townhouse, it ruined a good part of the floor, making dancing on it not doable.
I got a deal on a huge plush rug with a 1/2 inch pad, it is great for dancing barefoot and the sound problem is almost nil.
Shoes with any grip however are a no go. Very frustrating because, in some ways I think I love the shoes just as much as the dance. I tried the tape but found it would just roll, I even bought the best tape that I could find at Home Depot, and still had the same problem.
I experimented on a cheaper pair of shoes. First I tried to wear them down on concrete, still not smooth enough for spins. So then I used a callous scrapper and went to town, a little better, but not what I was looking for. Finally, I got Krazy Glue and coated the bottoms. Bingo! Nice and smooth.
The next time I do this to a pair of shoes, however I will protect the sides with tape for any run down because I did get glue on the sides of the shoe (not a huge deal, it is clear) Also, if you do this be careful because when not on the carpet these shoes are not super slickery and dangerous.
I had to use an entire container of Krazy Glue for each shoe soul. I find it sold at the dollar store.

I always hear good things about the tape method. I personally have not yet tried this, but I need to. When I'm practicing stuff I always dance barefoot, but I love putting on shoes when I'm doing something sexy, and carpet definitely does cause some less-than-graceful sticking occasionally.
