I am 5 ft. Started w a 45, but am now getting a 38. I think 45 is best to learn on. I had chrome n didn’t like it so painted it gold n I like the grip better

I have heard in Florida we use 50s in competitions and showcases. The 50s are easier for leg grips and it is easier to go from a 50 to 45 than a 45 to a 50 from what I hear.

I started with a 50mm, but a year later got the 45mm, I have smallish hands am about 5ft 5 weigh around 150 lbs. I do prefer the 45 for grip and wish I'd got the 45mm from the start. I dont have any trouble with thigh grips it just makes everything easier on my fingers lol, I would love to try a 40mm at some point they look awesome, just worried that I might find CAR'S thigh holds more difficult, but lots of girls on here get on great with their 40mm's..

I have a 45 mm at home and use a 50 at my pole studio. Honestly I prefer the 50 over the 45. I get a way better grip and it dosent make hands ache afterwards like the 45mm do. #ToEachItsOwn 🙂

I'm with FeeDen, same height and weight, wish I had gotten a 45 to start, I have a 50 chrome xpert. I like the chrome fine, some don't though. The studio has 40mm brass. I like the brass, but 40 is just a little tiny for my taste. Great for spins, and hand grip. I do feel like my legs grip better on the brass than chrome….. they're such different poles!

I'm 5'2" and about 145-150 lbs. I work best on 38, 40, and 45, with 45 being quite large for my hands. Here is an album comparing all the sizes and you can see I measured my hand so you can reference and compare to your hand. Personally, I like the 40 best of all the diameters. It is small enough for my hands to wrap fully around it with some overlap, but not as small as the 38 where moves can be a bit more awkward. It's kinda like having a mix of 45 and 38 all in one!
