Quick question.. when is the best time for you guys to film yourselves doing pole tricks/ a routine? I've joined the freestyle fridays group on facebook and for the past three weeks I have filmed at the end of my class on thursday night. It feels good at first, but I find myself exhausted, not able to invert, etc. at the end. It sucks because I want to include more things in my freestyle, but my body just won't let me. I was thinking after I warmed up before class? Or in the beginning of the week? I also workout/pole usually monday through thursday. Any suggestions? Thanks! <33

I record my whole practice and then edit what I want in it!

I record my whole practice , it’d good to see what you are or are not doing quite right! I usually freestyle midway through my practice , if I’m not warmed up enough I run out of steam and if I leave it to the end same , run out if energy.:-)

I record my whole session as I still need to desensitise myself to it. I perform much better without the camera on but I need to be able to critique my work and, if I ever want to perform to people, get confident with the pressure. I do tend to do a stint in the end without the camera just to pick up my confidence.

I always do it at the end of a long session, personally, because I'm really warm, flexible and sticky (I have dry skin so I have to be super sweaty to stick to the pole lol). It does come at the cost of decreased strength, but I sacrifice it for the flexibility and not having to use a million grip aids.

After you warm up but before class is probably a good idea if endurance is the problem. The good news is, your endurance should improve greatly just from doing those freestyles after class every week 🙂 Long sessions have been the key to building endurance for me.

Wow thanks everyone! I'll give it a try before class and see what happens 🙂
