how to share a playlist
Posted by Krista Bocko on November 26, 2012 at 3:21 pmI can't figure out how to do this in itunes…seems like it would be ridiculously easy to at least be able to copy and paste a playlist, but I can't. Or how do you make and share a playlist link that you can click to hear the tune samples?

A really really really good person to ask would be Amy as she used to do it in her blogs.

Yeah, I kinda remember that. Someone told me there was this itunes thing called 'ping' which allowed sharing, and it no longer exists?

I have no idea what happened to Ping. Just went to my account and can no longer see any of the people I was following. WTH??!!

"iTunes announced that they officially shut down their Ping service on September 30, 2012."
Boo!!

Ugh! This isn't very user friendly…or is it just me? When I click on 'Music' in the store, there isn't an option for creating a playlist??
In iTunes, click iTunes Store (below Store, on the left side of the iTunes window):

In the iTunes Store, click Music in the navigation bar at the top of the iTunes Store window:
https://help.apple.com/itunes/mac/10.7/help/English.lproj/Art/S205a_StoreNavMusic.png
In Music, click Playlists, and then click Create a New Playlist.
Sign into iTunes with your Apple ID, if you haven’t already.
Enter a title and description for the playlist.
To add a song, click Add Songs, select a song, and then click Add.
To find a song by album, artist, or song title use the Search field.
To hear a 30-second preview of the song before adding it, double-click the song’s title or click the Preview button https://help.apple.com/itunes/mac/10.7/help/English.lproj/Art/IL_Reviewbutton.png for the song.
When you’re finished adding songs, click Done.
To arrange your playlist, drag songs in the order you want.
Click Publish.

I have found that the instructions on the help site of Apple are at least a year old and still reference capabilities that itunes no longer has (it still lists Ping as an option). I am not sure that you can do this any more in itunes.
I cannot check this from work as I cannot access itunes, but can you see if Amy's link works?

I think people have started using spotify instead.
