Butterfly sort of….name?
Posted by chemgoddess1 on November 27, 2012 at 1:59 pmButterfly is typically done with the same hand being high as the leg on the pole, however I have also seen it done with opposite leg/arm placement. Does this have another name? I thought it did but I am even having issues trying to find where I had seen it before.

kinda like my profile picture? i tried to upload the pic like three times and for some reason it flips the image upside down. very frustrating. Anyways, I was wondering what it was called too. I just call it a butterfly variation, but im sure it has a name?

Your photo looks more like a bow and arrow than it does a butterfly.

Wow chem is that u? Great picture (and pose) whever that is. I want to try that, seems like a bow & arrow from iguana hold, but one hand released to regrip by shoulder. Is this the move/pose u are asking abt? Don’t onow any kind of official name for it myself either.
@shana ur profile pose to me looks like an extended eros — extended bc top leg is gripped @ ankle instead of @ knee, the way u’d do a basic eros (Brass Monkey-style) — just like extended vs regular butterfly… I feel like in Butterfly whole body needs to be on one single side of the pole. Eros 1/2 body is one side, 1/2 is on the other.

No, that is not me. It was the first image that popped up when I googled bow and arrow pole move.

A "real" bow and arrow (marksman/archer) from what I am told is supposed to be this grip. If you have Veena's lessons it is also here: https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4d46d077-22f0-4c57-87e0-2ff40ac37250
I am going to have to try this grip as I have always only done it with iguana mount arms.
But in answer to my first question, from what I have gathered so far is that it is just a variation of the butterfly.

Do you mean by chance poisson?

“..by chance **mean** poisson…”
I mean it would not be right if there was not a typo from me, 😛 -
No, if that was aimed at me. The pic that is in the thread was in response to Shannabella asking what move her profile pic was.
-
Oh I thought you were asking about a move that was a butterfly variation. Sorry!

I am. In butterfly you typically have right hand high/right leg on pole or left hand high/left leg on pole. ((HAhaha…ME's photo came up first in my image search))

What I am asking about is right hand high/left leg on pole or left leg high/right leg on pole.

I always thought people do this when they get their feet mixed up https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Happens to me a lot when after a combo I don't know which "side" feetwise I'm on in a inverted crucifix ….

As I followed up, people call it a modified butterfly or butterfly with cross hands. For some reason many moons ago in a forum far far away I thought I saw this listed as another name.
