Decide which pole finish to go with. I live in Wisconsin, so it isn’t very warm here, but I really struggle with sweaty hands. All the time, not just while poling. I have heard that brass is not very good in colder climates, but I am intrigued by the extra grip I could get. There is really only one studio near me, and we use powder coated and also Chrome poles. I’ve found both of them to be pretty slippy unless I’m having an extra good day. Anyone have experience on all the finishes with sweaty hands?

Do you mean your hands only sweat and slippy or your whole body? If it's only hands try some grip aids that are formulated for sweaty hands to see if that helps. If you have sweaty hands only go with a finish that will work best for your body, because regardless of finish you'll usually have issues. You can also try using gloves. If your body sticks well to chrome and you want super grip, then you'd really like titanium gold.
I have the old xpole brass and would not suggest you go with that finish. I lived in MN and I couldn't use it. They do have a "new" brass finish where they say it's better, but I have not tried it. So I couldn't tell you if it's has better grip. Now that it's cooler here in Vegas I can't use the brass again. ONLY when my whole body is wet and sweaty, then the grip is great. The titanium gold was amazing in the Midwest cold months. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Thanks for the quick response! Yea its only really my hands and feet that get sweaty, I never really have issues with the rest of my body. I think ill try to get some more opinions on titanium gold finish. Which grips are good for sweaty hands? I have tried using tite grip, itac, and grrrip. I tend to sweat thru in my hands most things I’ve tried.

Itac is not for sweaty hands, try mighty grip or dry hands. You may want to try the might grip gloves too, just get the ones that do NOT have tack on them.

for sweaty hands, there are many options available. Try using the gri aides first then move on to gloves if they don't work. Tite grip, dry hands and dirty girl poletice are the sweaty hand grip aides. It seems dirty girl polietice works for a lot of girls. I like to use tite grip gloves. They are a nice and grippy, but you can slide down the pole with them too.

I definitely have a sweating problem, but it's not just my hands… it's my whole body. I sweat a lot whenever I exercise, which is great for cooling me down during a run. But it's made me wonder if I will ever get beyond basic pole skills. Sweat just drips off me, and if I am depending on my skin to keep me in the air, then it's terrifying (which makes me sweat more of course).
I have a chrome X-pole, because my old studio had stainless steel. It's ok, but not amazing. It seems like as soon as I've warmed my body enough to stick to the pole, I start to sweat, and then it's all over. I've tried brass in other studios. If my hands and body are dry, then brass is amazing, but as soon as I start to work hard and really sweat, a brass pole might as well have grease on it. Sometimes I wonder if my body is just not meant to pole.
I've wondered if I should try a powder coated pole (like a Lil Mynx) for aerial tricks, and keep the chrome for practicing spins and slides. I tried lyra a few weeks ago which is coated in rubber and is super sticky. It was amazing! It was like sweat didn't matter.

I've had experience with all three poles and do have sweaty hands. I think regardless of the type of pole finishes, when your hands sweat, you slip. I find that chrome tends to be way worse than the other 2 in terms of slipperiness when your hands start to sweat. I am rendered useless on a chrome if I get way too warm and my hands are slick. I do use Tite Grip or Dry Hands and those do seem to help a bit, but still get a teeny tad sweaty during certain moves that require a strong grip.
With a brass pole, it's super slick and slippery during cold season or when the pole is just plain cold. I have to make sure that the pole is warm and I'm warm before I can stick to it with my body. As for the sweaty hands issue, working on a brass isn't so bad as long as the pole is warm. I feel like I have to wipe the pole down way less with a brass than I do with a chrome or a titanium gold.
I have a titanium gold pole and my hands do tend to slip just like the other 2 finishes when I sweat. I think the main reason I got the TG pole instead of a brass is because it's less stickier than the brass when I am warm (in terms of my body sticking to the pole). When this pole is cold, it's a little slippery but not as bad as the brass.
I would recommend giving Tite Grip or Dry Hands a go regardless or the pole finish you want to get. But since the brass pole is so fickle during cold weather, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're absoutely fine with having to keep the pole and yourself warm to get the benefits of the extra stickiness.

Thanks for some of the feedback…I am thinking of getting the titanium gold finish, and then also getting some more of the sweaty hand grip aids to try out. I'll report back once I have them all!
