That’s amazing. I’d assume it’s for more accent type pieces…so 3 yards would go a while depending on what you did. I’m cheap, though, and wha def look for alternatives, but what a fun idea!

Dulux paint make Glimmer Paint as well as Metallic Paint which is a reasonable price. Here in Australia a 4 litre tin costs AUD$156. A 4 litre tin paints 4 walls twice. If you'd like a feature wall a 1 litre tin will cover 1 wall twice. A wall is 16 square metres. They come in many different colour and look spectacular…you can even rub up against the Glimmer and some of the sparkle comes off on to you. It's water based so dries quite quickly too. (I used to work in a Paint shop)…lol

I think the best tip I learned was to make a bucket of elmers glue and mix it with glitter. Paint your wall with it and when the glue dries it's clear so all you get is the glitter. Because it's elmers glue if you are in an apartment then you just sponge off the walls afterwards. At least that's what I remember. Easier and cheaper than wall paper I do believe. and you can do any number of colors! I'm kind of wanting to do that to one of my walls to make it an accent wall.
