• My rut

So i think ive hit my first pole rut/ bump in the road. Normally I pick up on things very easy and can execute them without too much of a struggle, but for the past couple of days I haven't been able to do anything….well i cant say anything but you get the point. My spins are on point, no problem with them, but them dang ol inverts just don't want to be my friend. Even though i can do the Gemini and switch leg with out any problem, I haven't be able to get them in the last two pole practices i've had :{. Oh and then theres the butterfly…….this is a major struggle for me right now…well more so the arm postings…….ugh just thought of my trying to do it makes me sad. And to add insult to injury, theres the Arial invert……another losing battle for me. Clearly I have some serious conditioning days ahead of me. #TheStruggle

Pole has times when you learn A LOT then get stuck on some moves for months!  It is the nature of the beast with with sport.  Just keep at it, keep focused and change it up for a while.  Try different moves or work on foor work etc.   🙂

We all go through the same thing at one point or another. I’ve struggled with the extended butterfly for months, then last night I was explaining it to a friend and tried it, and “boom” it just happened like I’d been doing it all along. We all struggle, get a bit lazy, lose our motivation, but the great thing about the pole is that its always there for us when we’re ready. We are all here for support. Hang in there 🙂

Girl, your "rut" I am pretty sure can be considered a collective rut…aerial inverts are fucking hard excuse my french.  🙂

They are something I still struggle with to consistently make pretty and strong – and they always take a lot out of me.  Take comfort in the fact that many of us are working on the same things and focus on incremental progress rather than a huge goal (Aerial Amy posted that little nugget of wisdom a couple days ago and that speaks my philosophy to a t).  Break down the aerial invert to its smallest parts and work on perfecting each small part and then one day you (and myself!) will nail it, I just know it!

I found that i was unable to do aerial inverts until I stepped up strength building for example doing knee to elbow pull-ups , then after a couple weeks work on these ..bam!! aerial Inverts came !
