Can’t get Lil’Minx Pole onto non-skid pad
I apologise if this has been addressed already.
I'm having trouble getting my new Lil'Minx Rotator installed. Anyone have suggestions how to get it up onto the non-skid pad on top of hard wood floors? I've sent an email to Lil'Minx but wanted some other suggestions.
I ordered it to be special cut for my 7'10" ceilings & let Lil'Minx know that it was going on hardwood floor to be used on top of the the non-skid pad they recommended. It fits fine without the pad but I it won't compress enough if I put the pad directly under the mounting hook and try to lift it onto it. (Even if I twist the adjustment tube all the way into the main tube) If I try putting the base on the pad and sliding it, it get stuck because it "non-skid"
Anyone use a Lil'Minx pole on hardwood without the pad? What can happen?
(BTW I'm excited to start posting and chatting with everyone!) I've been doing aerial for about a year and have recently started doing some pole.

Does the pole have the four rubber feet? If so, you really don't need to use the pad. I never did, and I know a lot of others have had it work just fine with the feet. 🙂

I currently use my Lil' Mynx SS (not a rotator, but perhaps someday I'll be able to convert it to one!) on hardwood floors, without the pad thing. I never actually got one! I've not had a problem. Linoleum is also fine, and carpet is really good, because the feet sink in and it takes a LOT of strength to move that thing!

Yes, it has the 4 rubber feet. I left it like that for now without the pad. I will let you know if I hear anything else from Lil'Minx.

I had to work to get mine under there, but had to shorten the pole, really compress it down, and then slide the pole into place on the pad. Its not super easy, but can be done. Though i dont know how it works with custom sizes.

I ahve heard that some poeple have issues with the pad on hardwood (I think tehre is an old thread floating around on here about it). If you have the rubber feet I would not worry about the pad. I had mine up in my garage on a piece of panelling over cement for 3 years and it never once budged.

I used to have the Lil Mynx, I used without the pad but when I took it down after a month I had gouges in my hardwood floor (YES it did have the rubber feet, but the compression flattens out the rubber bringing the screws into direct contact with the floor. I had a haedwood expert take a look at my floor), so when I put it up again I had my son hold the pad and manually slide it while I was moving the pole in place.

I tried using the pad (on laminate), and it was useless. I just used the rubber feet with a little bit of Kramer’s sprayed on the bottom and it seems to work fine.

VERY SAD & PISSED OFF!! The new year is not off to a good pole start (I take that back yesterday I had a great class & learned the start to caterpillar climb and cartwheel mount. I'm so excited to learn both of them.)
I just spoke to the Lil'Minx guy and he said it sounds like it needs to be re-cut smaller. They did not offer any suggestion other than trying to "slide" the non-skid pad with the pole on top. I will give it one more try…
Anyway, since the box was thrown away (errr stupid boyfriend, why do they never listen!?! I had kept the box for weeks but then he puts the pole in another room and the box disappears.), they cannot send me out another box to ship it back so I will need to pay for my own return to custom box and ship it. Over $40!! I will NOT order again from Lil'Minx they have NOT been helpful. It is going to cost ME extra money for a mistake they made.
Lesson: Dont throw away your Lil'Minx pole box!!
How do I fit this pole in my car to bring it to the post office? Now I need to find a truck too. ERRR I just want to pole!!
Anyone have an Xpole to sell me that will fit a 7'10" ceiling? I should have gone with them in the first place but I was dazzled by the pretty pink powder coating.

Ok, I'm calming down. I just got a follow-up email from Lil'Minx. They will help with the ground shipping as long as I get a box that FedEx will insure for shipping. Sigh, I guess one of my new years resolutions needs to be to calm down…inhale, exhale! I will keep y'all posted.

You might consider making one (a pad). I went to Home Depot and bought a square piece of black rubber flooring mat like you would use for a home gym and just cut a circular piece out w/ a razor blade. It is lower profile than their pad and works just fine, also cheaper 🙂

I have some lilMs and I stand on each side of the pad with my shoes and put the minx on top so that it doesnt scoot (the pad) out of the way. then you can make little adjustments from there…not sure if that was helpful?
