  • Original xpole or new one: which do you like better?

For the gals who had x pole original and now have the new one which do you like better and why?

Someone on the net said she felt the new one felt more flimsy and cheaply made.

Does the new one install easier? Is it easier to dance with the smaller 40mm?  I still have the old one  which is okay- but i can't get it apart also I never really like the seam in the middle  so I am tempted to try the new one but maybe i should keep the old one too just in case?

    Thanks

I've never used the old one, but I can say that mine (which is a newer one) is definitely not flimsy and it does not feel cheaply made at all. As a matter of fact, my husband, who works with metals was highly impressed with it.

I have a new one as well, and its nowhere near flimsy.  It's incredibly sturdy.  It's a 45mm X-pert

To be honest, I preferred the old style- it just had fewer moving parts and fewer points of possible failure. WIth the huge release tools I never had a single problem getting it apart and I never worried about it getting stuck, and checking to make sure it was tight was super easy. I know how to use the new one very well, and it's very stable and not flimsy in my opinon, but it's just not as simple and clean of a design to me, especially for heavy use.

I have one of each and in most senses I like the new style better.

Reason number one for liking the new one is that I can make use of the whole length which feels important when you don't have a high ceiling.

Reason number two is that it is easier to tighten/untighten and make straight since it can be done from the floor with the new one.

Number three i that the new has a smaller bottom plate so that you hit it less often.

The one disadvantage is that one of my tubes have turned so that the holes are not aligned with the screws in the joint. It probably means that I will never be able to separate the joint and that tube. I don't think it will be much of an issue, but anyway it's not good that this happens.

When it comes to sturdiness I think the new and old are comparable. They seem the same.

Lina…there is a very easy fix for getting spun XJoints out so all is not lost.

I believe this is the video.  I cannot watch from work so I am hoping it is correct.

I would suggest after getting it apart ordering the new style XJoints as the center nob is probably pushed in on this one which means it will only spin again.  I think new joints are $20.

It was correct and seems pretty doable. Thank you!

I liked the old one. You lube the threads, screw them together and put it up. The new versions are more complicated and prone to issues.
