When I was a teenager, I went to a chiropractor for back issues. He told me I had flat feet and recommended I get orthotics. They're not exactly flat, but I do have extremely low arches, and my ankles roll inward when I stand. I'm very prone to plantar fascitis. My arches will fall if I do too much walking in a day (esp in flip flops, which I confess I do wear almost nonstop in the summertime). I find yoga leg balances (tree, dancer, warrior 3, etc) to be very challenging, and they can even be painful at times in my arches.

Pole and yoga have both helped me, but today I was just casually twirling around my pole and I felt a strain in my arch. I'm just curious if anyone else is dealing with this issue? If so, do you have any tips for me? Other than "keep working out your feet and ankle muscles."

I have flat feets as well, I have had problems with certain flooring  Certain types just give me an instant foot cramp. I wear socks to help with the spins and try to stay on my tip toes. I am looking into more  natural products to use for foot heath.

Try strenghtening the muscles on th bottom of you feet. Sit on a chair and lay a towel on the floor. Place one foot on the towel and try repeatedly to pick it up by grabing it with your toes. Continue until the muscles fatigue, rest and repeat.

Hey, your feet and my feet could be best buddies!! 😛 I've also had plantar fasciitis- it's horrible!!

My feet have been going GREAT now, I've started doing these (below) exercises three times a week. It doesn't take long, and it's been SUPER helpful.

    1. 3×15 of this- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_sCYwXaoRc
I originally just used a  tissue. Also, rather than pulling it in with the toes, I spread out my toes wise, and use the 'ball' of my foot, to pull in the tissue. Once you get the hang of that, you can do it sans tissue.

    2. Heels together, lift up onto toes. 3×15

    3. 3×10 point your toes- but do it slow and controlled, so ankle, foot, then curl toes in.

Like I said, it's simple, easy and has made a huge difference to my feet- aesthetically and practically. No more pain, and I seem to actually be developing an arch now.. albeit tiny, but hey, I'll take it!!

I will try some of those exercises! I have never had plantar fasciitis but I have terrible flat feet that just don’t make pretty pointed toes. Sometimes I get a kind of good point and then instant foot cramp. Lol will work on those arches! Lol thanx ladies

All the exercises listed will also help with that Ajrt, and it will help you create a good foundation for wearing heels too!https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I could never wear high heels (even low ones) before I started poling. It’s an amazing benefit to building ankle strength. I still love flip flops and sneakers, but I can finally look cute at weddings too!

I wear heels for work sometimes, but not too often cause it hurts my knees. I’d be afraid to poke my eye out or stab a finger poling in em. Lol one day maybe!
