    Hey fellow Veeners!!
For anyone who is a Mac user: I’m wondering what people use for video editing. I usually use iMovie, but I was wondering how to do several techniques and I’m not sure if iMovie is capable of it or if people had other programs they would recommend (not too pricey). I want to do things like fade music in and out, special effects like periodic blurring that happens kind of gradually (maybe that’s something that you need on the filming side of things)… I usually film myself by setting up my iPad or camera and repeating from different angles if I want them, as opposed to having someone else film me.
Any tips in general would be great! Thanks 🙂

I use iMovie, it can definitely fade music in and out. You can add filters, one of which will give your clip a “blurred” or “fuzzy” effect. You can also add transitions between clips, etc. iMovie on a computer has much greater capabilities than iMovie on the iPad. Depending on what I’m doing, I sometimes prefer iMovie on the iPad, because its lesser capabilities also makes it easier to use.

You can also use garageband and edit the song before you use it in itunes.  You can save it to go to itunes so when you add music it will be the correct one you wanted.

iMovie is great!  So many beginners started in iMovie, its much easier to use than Windows Movie Maker.

Thanks for the tips! Does anyone know if the filters can be gradual on and off or if they have to be a sudden switch?
