Inverting gracefully
I don’t have any particular trouble going into a basic invert, but I notice that I’m not at all graceful when I do it. When I get my front leg (that’s my right leg, inverting on my right side) onto the pole, I kind of have to jerk it upwards to straighten myself out, and it looks really clumsy. Is it a strength issue? I don’t have any trouble with my chopper, which I can do quite slowly, but the invert always looks like crap.
I guess my questions are: Should I actually be lifting my legs higher up, or maybe letting my arms and the rest of my body slide down? And is this a matter of practice and understanding the move better, or developing strength?
Thanks for your help!
