Found this article tonight, was a little offended and then not. I think the people who go into this as a fitness 'trend' quickly quit when they figure out ITS HARD! Yes, it can be sexy, and it can keep you in shape if you continue to work hard at it and challenge yourself each time.

I don't like that whoever wrote this article says that poles often come loose and you get sweaty and fall off listed them as cons. While, they're not the greatest things to happen (both of those things have happened to me lol) BUT, those kinds of things only happen when you're still not sure of what you're doing. You learn. DUH.

However, there is a silver lining to this article. Those were the only CONS, loose poles and sweaty hands. HA! Both of those are mastered strange article writer! =P

    Pole Power! Kisses xoxo

LoL, I guess all of us are “highly trained professionals” according to him. Guess we should take that as a compliment? 😛

Lmao! I can’t believe we are in the same category as shake weights and toning trainers. What an idiot! We should write to him.

I don't let articles like that sway my judgment.  I think its the best.  I've been doing it for 2 years and that is the longest that I have done any "workout trend".  Its not for everyone, but its definitely for me.  I have a compression pad and it has never come loos clearly the person who did this article installed it incorretly and instead of just admitting it they are saying that pole dancing is bad.  I love my pole, so I will continue.

Ughh! I wish there was a way I could write him!!! What an awful false statement!

I also don’t love his blanket negative about seated/chair workouts. It proves a serious lack of basic knowledge on his part. Seated exercises are entirely appropriate to many people for many reasons.

This list was obviously written for people who are out of shape or fitness beginners or people who look for the "quick fix". Otherwise there would have been no need to include the shake weights or stuff like that.

And I suppose we can all agree on the fact, that without the proper knowlegde pole dance CAN be dangerous. E.g. if you don't know which pole brands are quality brands and you buy a cheap one and start inverting on it .. well this probably won't end well. Also if you don't know about strength training there is a big risk of injuring yourself if you try out advanced moves that you didn't even know you weren't ready for.

I actually don't like seeing pole dance become a "fitness trend" that everyone should do like yoga or pilates. Lack of knowledge will probably give pole dance a bad reputation in the fitness world (regarding injuries, not just because of the stripper association https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif )
