Hi Veeners!!  I am in the process of opening a pole studio!!  Yayyy!   So now I am getting quotes on poles.  I am still not exactly sure of the ceiling height since we have not decided which location we will use.  So far, I've spoken with an agent at x-pole and she has started talking to me about the 2 piece pole with a fixed mount.  When I spoke with her before, she didn't mention this… I am almost a little concerned in case I decide to move, I would want to be able to just move the poles with me.  With the 2 pc poles, I can move them but they are height specific (with only a 4 in window).  What poles are used in your studios?  Are they fixed mounts, 2 pc, sinlge pc, or just the standard mult-piece kit, with the dome…?  I am mostly interested in x-pole because that is all I have ever used.  How many poles does your studio have?  How far apart are they?  A friend told me they are supposed to be 10 ft apart…  How far from a wall?  Tips and experience is greatly appreciated with how to stagger the poles as well.  I've been learning at home since I began and have only visited very few studios.  Thanks in advance!!

AH!!  I guess another good question to ask would be about rates… I have no idea what to charge people, and I will have overhead charges.  Friends are all thinking I am going to just give free lessons… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif  Any experience or tips on that would also be SO helpful!!  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Yeah JC! While u wait for answers, search for old threads. I know I have read about all this before….and congrats! Also if your unsure about the whole how to do this or that, Tease Fitness in Chicago is now selling franchises, I know a girl who just did that….opened a franchise from her. Not sure if it’s a good ides, bad idea, or what, but another option I guess u could explore

Thanks Lyme. I did a quick search bc I didn’t have a lot of time and it gave me a bunch of random stuff I wasn’t searching for. I’ll look when I have more time later. Thanks again!!!

You should visit some studios in your area to see what they do and what they charge. Congrats on your new venture. If your ceilings are too high you are going to compromise the safety of students if you get poles that have too many pieces.

Congratulations!  I hope it's a smooth journey for you and that you find success!

I went with Platinum Stages single piece permanent poles for my studio.  They are 11.5' high and I didn't feel that a multi-piece or removable would be a stable option.  Also, I love how simple it is to switch PS poles from static to spin.

I ended up with 6 poles, which is what I could fit in my space with adequate room between them.  I say no less than 6.5' between walls and poles and no less than 7.5' between poles.  That's basically what I've got (with two rows of three poles, staggered) and we never have problems with kicking things/each other.
