I am purely a studio Veena student and have decided once I’ve worked my way through the intermediate lessons I will reward myself with a spinny pole. Am so happy tonight as the cross knee release and Gemini have both just ‘clicked’ after a few days off trying! Yay!!
    Half way there now.
What goals have you set yourselves?

My pole goals are the shoulder mount and Ayesh.  I'm trying for elbow grip because my split grip doesn't feel safe.  I got the Superman last summer but I fell on spinning once so I'm more careful now.  Maybre spinning pole should be a goal, I do like to play on it but I still feel so giddy, I'm ok if I invert but if I'm upright I feel very sick after a few minutes and it doesn't seem to get any better, lol

My goal is to get into the open V while in a shoulder mount. I finally did a shoulder mount today and my pole is STILL so slippery I lost my grip as soon as I got into the V position :(( My other goal is the Ayesha and to revist the Butterfly, I'm still a little scared of it since it's the move I hurt myself in. I would like to work on a combo Barbed Wire into Butterfly but I'm noticing my split may not be wide enough to hook my leg, but I'm gonna keep working at it.

What is Barbed Wire? I've never heard that name for a pole move before.

Wow you girls are all so advanced! I never realised just how much work went into poling, it looks so graceful and easy when you watch the experts.
Hope you all reach your goals!

    Twisted Ballerina and Iron X.

At the moment I don't possess any of the upper body or core strength to achieve either. But my strength increases all the time, I'm losing weight, so I'm getting lighter to lift myself for longer periods of time. I just got my split grip recently. So, slowly but surely the tools to get these moves are coming along.

My poling goals at the moment are caterpillar and butterfly. I' m working on them and I believe that with some practice I will nail them.

Regarding the cross knee release, the two things that helped it click for me were some decent floor mats to go over my slate floor (!) and the realisation that you take quite allot of your weight onto the top of your knee. Also stopped trying for a few days and then did it first time.

I think thats what i need! Matts! Ive not long had a rhinoplasty so im very nervous about letting go and falling on my face and ruining my nose.. I need to practise that move!

I have some big goals/hopes this year:Extended butterfly, SG & EG Ayesha, Catepillar, cartwheel & handspring mounts, floorwork, fluidity, combos, flexy+splits (so I can get the Jade) are my goals for 2013

Really wanna get a controlled spinning chopper!!! It’s impossible on my good side however easier on my weak side… How is that possible it sure is frustrating!!
Also I working towards a controlled elbow stand, shoulder mount & iguana mount ( I think that’s what it’s called)
And ultimate goal is the front splits and improve general flexibility 🙂
