Do You Ever Wear Pole Shoes Outside of Class?
Posted by Nadine Young on February 26, 2013 at 6:59 pmI've started wearing my pole shoes to work (I work in an office). I wear 6 or 7 inch platforms from Pleasers, Ellie, and Leg Avenue. I started doing this because they are actually more comfortable and cuter than my office shoes!
Of course, I would never wear the glitter heels or neon pink shoes I have but plain black, red, cork, and other styles seems to work out ok. No one has said anything yet. What do you all think? Is that weird or normal? I'm thinking the only heels I should buy from now on should be pole dancing shoes?!?
ps- My office doesn't know I pole dance….but maybe now they do???? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif

I definitely would not do that. My reasoning has nothing to do with pole dancing but rather with professionalism. Let's get Stacey London and Clinton Kelly in there!

You wear 7 inchers to work???
Wow!
If I did that, my collegues would ask if I wanted to change my profession… -
There are quite a few styles that could pass as regular shoes. Look at any of the stores nowadays, most of the dressier heels could pass as stripper heels. I have a pair of G by Guess Mary Janes that look identical to the Pleaser Mary Janes that I have worn to company functions, and I have a pair of platform glitter heels (not THE glitter heels, but a glittered pair of shoes) that I have worn also. However my job is in a lab so nothing but steel toes on a daily basis.

I will also add that you can get away with styles in Cali and NY that you cannot get away with in the midwest.

I also find that my 7 inch platform Ellies are easier to walk in than my 3 inch job interview heels.
I think it's because it's easier for me to walk on the balls of my feet (which the pole shoes force me to do) than on regular or kitten heels, which put me in this weird sort of half point, half flex position that is really hard on my ankles and feet.
I wouldn't wear the 7 inchers to work, just because it would be awkward to suddenly grow 7 inches overnight. But I have an evening wedding to attend in April and I'm tempted to wear my Ellies!

I've worn pole shoes out to the club before. I like wearing my glitter heels because they're fun and Ellies are super comfortable. 🙂

I've worn my shoes to clubs and some restaruants. I have Pleaser shoes, so they are really comfortable. People who make high heels need to take tips from the makers who make stripper heels when it comes to comfort.

Never worn my shoes outside but, they are very comfortable. And yes, shoes I like are Pleaser too first pair. Always loved high heels and was thrilled when I got mine. Maybe I should wear them to church.

I would except for I’m 5 foot 6 in bare feet & my 7 inch pleasers make me be 6.1…. as tall / or taller than most men I know, lol. They are way more comfortable than normal heels tho!

Most of my high heeled shoes are actually not "pole dancer" shoes but I use them as such. I am 5'8" so I wear 5-6" heels in general. I like to wear them in class, to parties, and going out. Some of my favorite brands are Steve Madden and Betsey Johnson.

Some day I look forward to getting some actual pole shoes.

I'm the opposite. I have a bunch of high heels I wear outside that I love too much to take to class or work 😛

I often use my pole shoes, when I work as a model aswell, because im not the tallest out there, and they put me up where I need to be 🙂 I have also worn some of them (not glitter) to school. Im in med school, and most of the women there, are very casual dressed, but many of them complimented my shoes, and I even convinced one of them to buy a pair and try out a poledance class 😀

Cap, I have one pair of beeter boots that I use when I am training or practicing and that is it. The only time I wear my fun shoes is for a performance or if we are going to a club. And I usually get bummed every time the day after when I see the scratches.
