Ok I just need to vent. I had a amazing shoulder lift but I had to stop doing pole for about three months. I started backup again and I can’t do it. I have been doing this for 5 years, how can three months change all my hard work? Can someone give me any ideas? I feel like a total loser right now 🙁

U mean shoulder mount? Well I got mine one day, a bunch of times and the next day it was gone! Took me 9 months of trying almost on a daily basis before I got it back! I feel ur pain, but u will get it.

Hmm! Interested to hear others experiences…Lyme, do you know what 'clicked' with you to get it back??

I'm the same with my Twisted grip mount. I went on a 2 week vacation and gained 5lbs and then couldn't get it.  As I'm losing the weight very slowly, my TG mount is slowly coming back also. It's at 50-50% of getting into it right now. sooooo frustrating.

The price plus the hassle just doesn’t seem worth it to me anymore:/

Nothing clicked, it just came back…..it happens to most dancers w a few move, it is normal, ufortunatley. Actually I am now having this same issue w my SG.

Oh yeah, I know it's totally normal. sometimes the stars align and we 'get' a move and then can't repeat it. definitely happened to me. personally, I've learned not to say I've 'got' something until I can nail it every time, every practice. lol.

But to the OP…you'll get it back. I know it. How long have you been back at pole? Give yourself a little time…

I have gotten moves and done them for a while and then I lose them for x amount of time without taking a break from the pole. Handspring and SG aysha are the two that love to just come around whenever they please.

Totally in this phase of pole right now… Mainly with my stupid shouldermount, left side most of all. I got both sides one day, STRONG holds, and now can't manage to get 'em back.

I also managed to get the Janeiro, but now I just can't get into it! I get so close, until I try to drop my top leg down!

Yup. It happens. One day I just "got" my Extended Butterfly with ease, then it flitted right out of my life. I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing wrong, but I just have to work at it. So much depends on our mood and how we are feeling, physically on any given day. Unless you are poling 5 days a week, I think it's easy to lose some things every now and again. It will come back after you've had  a bit more time back in the saddle!

Thanks for the support guys 🙂 as silly as it sounds I don’t feel that bad anymore. I thought I was alone on this but I guess it can happen to anyone. And to answer that question I have been back on the pole for three weeks.

Yup, same here with split grip Aysha and Jackknife (pike).  I finally was able to accomplish it pretty consistently there for a while, BUT now it's like starting all over again.  For me, I know I'm over-thinking it.  Want to desperately get them back, it took me long time to get it.
