Hi, I'm new to studioveena. I've never pole danced before, but after looking into it I've been considering taking the leap and getting myself a pole. I'm not exactly the most flexible person in the world, or the fittest, but after seeing some videos of bigger girls rocking the pole I'm so tempted to give it a go. Hopefully I can learn a thing or two here 🙂

Welcome and it will be a journey to becoming what you are not. I am not the strongest either but on here is a community of lovely ladies and men that's infactuated with pole!

Thanks Desirae. My man sure is for it lol. I was a little shy when I brought it up to him but he was more for it than I thought.

Awesome! You have to go to a studio and take a class for sure if you haven't.

Well thats a problem for me. There are no classes offered in my area so I'd have to do this through videos and self teaching. I've already started myself on a home made excercise plan to help get me into better shape before actually getting the pole, but ya it's nothing like having an experienced teacher present.

The SV lessons are a wonderful resource for conditioning, stretching — not just for pole.  They are a bargain!!!  even if you go to a studio, it's like having a peronal tutor at home.  I have learned so much from SV lessons, and they were very helpful when I was rehabbing from an injury (non-pole) … how to safely regain my strength.

Sign up for veenas lessons! Sign up now before you get your pole as there are stretching, conditioning & floor work things in the beginning lessons that you can work on now before your pole arrives. Best thing about veenas lessons is they go in sequential order, so you can always be sure you are learning is right for your skill level & it also allows you to build strength as you move through each lesson.

Just wanted to pipe in and agree with everyone else. Veena has a fantastic way of breaking down moves so if you do have the ability to pay for lessons, do it!

Good luck with your pole journey!

I'm very new to pole dancing just bought myself an X Pole. I found this site surfing the web and really considering signing up for the classes. I love the community feel and support everyone has for each other. I'm 56 yrs young and can't wait to start my first lesson. I work out 3 to 4 sometimes 5 X's a week weight training and spinning classes. I hope this helps me. Can't wait to my Grand daughters faces when they come home from college and find out Granny is a Pole Diva!!
