…and now feeling a little sick. LOL! So a little background – I'm new, like brand spanking new. I've only been on a pole once, for a few minutes because my friend had a pole and wanted a bunch of us to try it. That was over a year ago. So I just ordered a pole today after a few weeks of research. It'll be a while before it gets here, so I thought I'd practice some warm ups with a free video I found on another site. WELL I am either really out of shape, or pushed myself too hard, or something, because I'm now typing this from the floor. I feel sick to my stomach, and I really hope I'm not going to be doomed to misery after each warm up. I ate about 2 hours ago, did I not wait long enough? Or is it normal to feel queasy at first? I think it was being semi-upside down that did it, like standing with legs apart head down between them, and the standing split thing. At the time I just felt a little lightheaded, but afterwards, I feel like my tummy hates me. Anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance! I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you, and making progress (step one – don't get sick after warm up!).

Were u dizzy at all? Dizziness makes u queasy…I know that is what it does for me. I have had vertigo twice which is why I won't even attempt the spinny pole! U probably over did it..maybe kept your head down too long. I have found that it is worse when I have an ear problem going on too. Take care….and be careful!

My husband has vertigo and I sympathize with you. It's terrible. He describes it like being drunk with the bed spins….? Luckily I haven't felt that way in many years! LOL!. I like the spin pole better. It seems the spins are easier but yes, it does make me dizzy.

I wanted to ask if you are at the point where you are experiencing hot flashes? I am and they definitely interfere with being able to complete spins, etc. I can't keep my grip dry enough to hold on. I usually end up hanging off one are before I slide down…..! So frustrating. I have tried every dry hand product I can find and nothing seems to keep them dry. I was doing HRT but the side effects weren't worth it so I quit and decided to tough it out and maybe they'll go away. I feel like I can't progress because of it.

OH yes they are awful, but I am on a patch which controls the flashes. I wont be on them long becuz I know about the dreadful side effects when using them long term. U cant go over 7 years and i have been on them on and off for 3. No sweaty hands or anything but I am just a beginner so I dont do a lot on the pole yet.

I don't recall feeling dizzy. And the thing is, the sick feeling hit me when I was done (and my head was back above the level of my butt), so at the time I just felt a little lightheaded/woozy, but I wouldn't describe it as dizzy/vertigo. How long do people usually wait after eating to exercise?

Good luck with the hot flashes, by the way…
