Hi ladies! I had stopped pole a couple years ago because I reinjured an already weak wrist. Is there any advice you can share to strengthin my wrists so this doesn't happen again. I just went to a "pole jam" (just a few of us and couple poles) for the first time in a long time and my wrist is bothering me already. I really want to get active with pole again so PLEASE, any advice!

Have you been to see a physiotherapist? When I hurt my wrist my physio gave me exercises using a theraband that helps add resistance and build up strength. You need to strengthen your wrist joint by flexing the joint up and down, side to side and turning it. If I can find a video I’ll post it… it’s a pain when you bugger up your wrists ain’t it?!

I was doing physical therapy after my injury, but it never really got better. When I moved home to Ohio I wasn't doing strenuous activity and it wasn't bothering me, but I hopped on a pole last night and today it is hurting me! I have tricare (military insurance) so I will start the process now on maybe doing physical therapy again, but especially with all the cuts I have a feeling it will take forever! I have some bands from when I injured my ankle so I will get those out! I didn't even think about that, thanks!

Wrists alone are not the problem.  The forearm muslce if it is weak will increase your chance of wrist injury as they work together.  Veena has some wonderful exercises in her lessons for strengthening the forearm and wrists.  I HIGHLY recommend subscribing to them  if even for the shortest membership that's availible, it would be money well spent.  I gaurentee it will help you!  ðŸ™‚

HI Amberfinn, Pole dances should be approached by progressively building strength, so don't be discouraged, you just need the right tools! Litlbit is right, I have many exercises that will help you build the strength you need. In addition to that, all lessons are placed in progressive order so you know what you should work on next. If you are looking for even more guidance try our 30 day take off program!

Here is a video that explain how the 30 days works https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/50e4694e-a85c-4fa0-8e66-61940ac37250
