How to journal?
Posted by Sassypants on April 14, 2013 at 1:40 amSo I hear people on here talk about their pole journals all the time, but I'm never quite sure what that entails. I'd like to start one, but I'm not really sure what to write in it.

I blog about all things related to fitness/pole. I've seen people just write about their goals and how far they've come to achieving the goals. I've also seen pole vlogs- which are videos documenting progress. It's really all about what you want to write about or film as your journal is your own documented progress more for you and to be able to look back upon and see your progress. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Do you mean blogging or tracking your progress in a journal?
I keep track of my pole progress in a notebook. I've tried a few iPhone app, but they required too much customization to work for me. I write the date, what I worked on and will put a smiley face, sad face or otherwise depending on how my session or work on that particular move went.
I'm also trying to get comfortable with video taping my practices so that I have a visual of how far I've made it.
If you meant blogging though, I don't have any experience with that.

I came across this journal on fb and found it on this link…http://www.liveituppolefitness.com/pole-journals/
Not sure if this goes to the u.s. but it has different sections with goals music etc. I thought it was pretty cool. The others pole journals I found were not broken into sections, they could b used for pole journaling but they looked like they were just address books with pole dancing covers. The link above is an actual progress tracker pole journal. Hope this helps, I have yet to journal my pole progress but I should. 🙂 -
I can't remember who posted, but there are some picture on SV of the inside of that journal, if you are interested. I just use a regular notebook that 3 sections.
In addition to what I wrote above, I track the sets and reps that I am currently doing in regards to pole conditioning and strength lessons and I also keep a list of songs I think would be performance songs for me.
