Weight gain really sucks. Especially when you teach 5 days a week and want to be inspiration for your students. I've never been what you can call the standard of a poler, I'm tall, have tons of curvage and I weigh typically more than most think. I'm at my all time heaviest, 185lbs. I've gained around 15lbs. since teaching again and I'm not seeing any results. The X-Pole I use to teach with is supposed to go from static to spin but when I tighten the bottom for static, it still turns. Does anyone know how to cope or things to try? I really appreciate it! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

All I can say, is that if you're still working, and teaching, you are inspiring your students. Its actually GOOD to see you don't have to be a perfect physical specimen to learn or even teach athletic activities. I've only had a few people come out with the "How do you teach hooping for exercise when you could stand to lose a few pounds yourself?" and to them I just say I am ALWAYS striving for better health and fitness, that I've come a long way, and there is always something I can improve upon. Would they prefer I recede into a dark room in bloomy clothes until it becomes a problem? Noone is going to be inspired or get healthy by hiding out (which is what I used to do, and refuse to do any longer)

I'm not sure about your static/spin problem, I know there are several threads that address similar problems, the general consensus is contact X Pole and let them help you troubleshoot the issue.

As for the weight gain, there could be biological reasons (hormones, metabolism, stress) or it could just be a matter of tweeking your diet. If you feel you are exercising and eating appropriately, and nothing is happening, try seeing a doctor or nutritionist.

Most of all, good luck, you can and WILL still inspire your students if you are a good teacher. <3
