All I know is I snore sometimes like a truck, I have headaches in the am sometimes, and I have to go to the bathroom during the nite…all of those are symptoms. Im not sleepy during the day, but I dont feel as tho I have slept very well at times. Afraid to go to the sleep clinic becuz if I have it, I will have to use that horrid mask like my husband lol. Oh well, will have to buck up and go. If i do have it, it's something that cannot go untreated. My summer is sounding just dandy already !

I'm a dental tech and we fabricate dental appliances, and one of the appliances we make are for people who have sleep apnea or people who snore.  It's kind of a big looking mouth appliance, but it'll probably be more pleasant looking than a mask like machine since it fits inside your mouth very much like a sports guard.  It just repositions your lower jaw so that it doesn't slide back and block your airway.  You may go talk to your dentist about such an appliance  they'll tell you more about it.  You may think it's a big honkin' piece because it fits on both your upper and lower arch, but like I said, it's just another alternative to the mask like machine!

I was told about this but wondered how well it worked Does it help your patients to some degree?

I haven't heard anything negative about the appliance and we've continue fabricating them for patients, so it must be working!

I went for a sleep study (overnight) and was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome.  I was told to take magnesium for the restless legs.  I am trying to avoid the CPAP machine (mask thing) for the sleep apnea.  I'm currently using nasal strips which are like a band aid which you stick across your nose.  It's supposed to help keep your airways open, and it does seem to help.
